Celebrating 34 years of family entertainment, the Christmas in Ida Family Concert Series features top national recording artists and includes three concerts beginning Friday night with the Commemorative Concert featuring the University of Michigan G-Men and continues Saturday with the Pop-Music Concert featuring Claudia Paddy followed by a headliner Country Music Concert featuring Little Texas.

COUNTRY MUSIC CONCERT

Presented by MeijerThe country music concert headlines with multi platinum country band LITTLE TEXAS returning to Christmas in Ida to film the television show Back to the Back Roads with host Andy Ross. The television show features LITTLE TEXAS and will be filmed throughout the downtown district during the day and concert. LITTLE TEXAS will perform their songs from their new album Young For A Long Time and their No. 1 hits God Bless Texas, What Might Have Been, and My Love during a seventy-five minute concert. Join us in Ida for a once in a lifetime LITTLE TEXAS performance and the filming of Back On The Back Roads.

Christmas is Ida is proud to introduce to the pop- music world Claudia Paddy. At 17 years old, Claudia Paddy has taken pop-music by storm completing her second EP recording in 2016 with producer Chuck Alkazian of Pearl Sound Studios. Her album titled Reborn features five original songs including Never Have to Part, Mine, Close, My Tomorrow, and Song for You. Her first album entitled Love and Other Second Hand Emotions features her original song Its Called Love. Claudia Paddy is an award winning singer/songwriter with her own style of music as recognized by Sony Records as true Americana with a unique feel beyond anyone currently in the music industry. She has performed for American Idol, and at the Michigan State Fair. Anita’s Dance Company of Wisconsin will warm up concert visitors with a high energy performance of holiday dance.

FRIDAY NIGHT COMMEMORATIVE CONCERT

and State Senator Dale W. Zorn (In cooperation with West Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Heritage Baptist Church, St. Gabriel Parish, and Ida United Methodist Church)

The G-Men (or Gentlemen) are the premier all-male cappella group from the University of Michigan. The G-Men will perform songs from their albums ABCDEFH, the GP album and their G-Manifest Destiny. The G-Men compose their music with sophisticated arranging, charismatic percussion, and vibrant mixing. The G-Men have competed in ICCA Finals in New York City’s Town Hall, toured extensively across the US, and performed privately for President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

BMX MOTOCROSS STUNTS SPECTACULAR (Weather Permitting)

The Right Direction Youth Development Program of Toledo, Ohio will perform extreme bicycle stunts in a spectacular non-stop action-packed show featuring high flying aerial acrobatics performed on our portable ramp. The show features local Pro rider and Ida, Michigan native David Lieb in a spectacular, non-stop, action-packed show! The Right Direction Youth Development Program is directed and mentored by professional athletes that help youth become successful throughout their life by positive youth development programs.

BENEFIT AUCTION

The Ida High School Class of 2018 will hold a new merchandise benefit auction in the heated Partners tent at the Ida Township Hall parking lot. With merchandise for the entire family, the auction is a must for the Christmas shopper. Anita’s Dance Company of Wisconsin will kickoff the auction with a high energy Holiday dance performance

SANTA’S ZOO AND CAMEL RIDEPresented by Global Digital Printing

Featuring exotic animals from all corners of the world. Located in a tent at Ida Farmers Co-Op on Lewis Avenue, the zoo displays reindeer, camels, monkeys, llamas, emus, kangaroos, and other animals that inspire the animal kingdom. Santa’s Zoo is hosted by Natures Creek Zoo.

FLURRY OF FANTASTIC FAMILY FESTIVITIES SHOWPresented by ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital

The Heritage Baptist Church will host the Flurry of Fantastic Family Festivities Show with interactive entertainment for parents and children. Get ready for some holiday entertainment and fun! The show will feature music, movement, games, and LOTS of prizes.

CHRISTMAS IN IDA PARADE OF LIGHTSPresented by DTE Energy

The Parade of Lights tours the downtown district with illuminated floats, fire trucks, farm implements, cartoon characters, bands and marching units. Attracting over 130 parade units, the parade entertains an estimated 48,000 visitors. The parade attracts entries from Michigan, Ohio Indiana, Wisconsin, Canada and has included Kay Lani Rafko-Wilson, Miss America 1988; Jillian Harris star of the 2009 Bachelorette; World Champion Boxer, Bronco McKart; Ernie, the Keebler Elf; Detroit Tigers, Paws; the Grinch; Louie the Lightning Bug; Big Bird; Ronald McDonald; and National Champion Owl Creek Clydesdales. The Parade of Lights can be seen in its entirety throughout the Holiday Season beginning Dec. 12 at 7 pm on MPACT Charter Communications ch 187, Comcast ch 21, D & P Communications ch 21, Buckeye ch 69 and can be seen on world-wide web at www.youtube.com/user/MPACTStudio.
