Brief Beliefs Pastor Gordie Bauslaugh
Brief Beliefs:
We believe in the one living and true God, perfect in wisdom, sovereignty, holiness, justice, mercy and love (First Timothy 1:17; Psalm 86:15; Deuteronomy 32:3-4). He exists eternally in three coequal persons who act together in creation, providence and redemption (Genesis 1:26; First Peter 1:2;Hebrews 1:1-3). The Son became man, Jesus Christ, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (John 1:14; Matthew 1:18). Being fully God and fully man, He revealed God through His sinless life, miracles and teaching (John 14:9; Hebrews 4:15; Matthew 4:23-24). He provided salvation through His atoning death in our place and by His bodily resurrection (First Corinthians 15:3-4; Second Corinthians 5:21; Romans 4:23-25). He ascended into heaven where He rules over all creation (Philippians 2:5-11). He intercedes for all believers and dwells in them as their ever-present Lord (Romans 8:34; John 14:23).*Taken from our North American Baptist Statement of Beliefs
To Illustrate:
Christ did not sin (First Peter 2:22). Christ knew no sin (Second Corinthians 5:21) and Christ was totally without sin (Hebrews 4:15). “Guilty, vile and helpless we, spotless Lamb of God was He; Full atonement! Can it be?
Hallelujah, What a Savior. – Philip P. Bliss

Honest Questions/Answers: Pastor Gordon Bauslaugh
Q – What is “Spiritual Warfare” as so often referred to in relation to Ephesians 6:12?
A – (the following is taken from the Quest Study Bible): Paul reminds us that we have spiritual authority and blessings in the unseen or heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:3). God wants people to be delivered from the power of Satan and his forces (Ephesians 2:1-2). The good news is that Satan and his forces have already been defeated and disarmed (Colossians 2:15). Consequently, there’s no need for believers to fear their spiritual enemy. While Satan still has the freedom to tempt and harass Christians, he has no direct authority over them. The armor of God pictures the protection Jesus gives us against demonic attack. Spiritual warfare for believers therefore is fought in the mind, emotions and the will. Scriptural truth is our primary line of defense. That’s why Paul frequently urges us to be renewed in our minds (Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:1-3). The more our minds are filled with the truth of God’s Word, the less susceptible we are to Satan’s deceptions and temptations. However, because Satan still rules the unbelieving world, on occasion we must confront Satan’s work in people’s live (for example, Acts 13:9-12). To dislodge Satan’s influence in someone’s life a supernatural encounter of God’s power and truth may be required. *You are invited to email your questions to the church, to me personally, or place in wooden
