We seek to support one another, reaching out to all, and are committed to spreading the Gospel and practicing our faith in our daily lives to achieve salvation in Christ.

Family Perspective: The widow in today’s gospel is praised for her PERSEVERANCE. In our homes perseverance is a critical ingredient to resolving differences in marriage, and teaching lessons and skills to children. Perseverance is always an act of faith and trust in the goodness of the other person.
Marriage Moments: It's easy to say "Pray always" (Luke 18:1) but is it really practical? If we broaden our concept of prayer it is. Service to the family can be a form of prayer. Think doing dishes, fixing stuff around the house, taking care of sometimes crabby kids, providing an income for necessities... Bring prayerful mindfulness to one such act today.
Our prayers and sympathy to the Hatton family on the death of Marcia’s mother, Sylvia Miller and to the Boyd family on the death of Riley & Hayley’s grandmother, Kay Boyd. May Sylvia and Kay rest in God’s eternal peace.

For Next Week
Questions for the week: It’s sad how a wrong attitude can destroy the good we try to do. It’s well that we try to fast, tithe, and pray as did the Pharisee, but we must do so with the attitude of the tax collector, yearning for God’s mercy and loving those whom the Lord loves: sinners like us. In yearning to be like God, let’s be careful not to make the mistake of being ashamed of being human. Being human is a good attitude. After all, it’s one that Jesus took. It kept him focused on God. So, when we gather together in the same house of God at prayer, at worship, let’s not stand apart. We need to huddle together, close enough to see in ourselves and one another a little of the Pharisee and a little of the tax collector, and to pray to a merciful God for all of us. Is the virtue of humility a value in your life? Should it be? Do you think a person can “earn” salvation? Why or why not? What’s easier for you to rely on, merit or mercy?
