ANNOUNCEMENTS
A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
Every once in a while you come across a story that makes you feel better about life. Here’s one I read about in The Christophers’ book…. “Three Minutes A Day”…. “Growing up in poverty in St. Mary’s County in Maryland, Thomas Forbes never went to school because his family needed him on the farm. As he grew, Forbes would work in several trades—plumbing, brick layer, cement finishing; he even dug graves. But one thing Forbes didn’t do, until he was nearly 60 years old, was to read. His incentive: He was chosen and agreed to become a permanent Deacon in his parish church. His wife and a retired teacher helped him. Forbes loved serving as a Deacon….bringing Holy Communion to the sick, taking part in funerals, weddings, baptisms, and marriage preparation classes. Before his death at age 75, he said, “I’m happy the Lord has led me this way, so that I can reach out to people. I have a beautiful life. He did indeed. If there is one thing we all seek from life is fulfillment and happiness. Some try to achieve fulfillment and happiness by the career they choose, some by a happy marriage and successful children; others by a professional career; or by a secure job with financial security. Everyone wants a “Beautiful Life”. But no matter what route you take in life, unless God plays an integral part in your life, you will never have a “Beautiful Life” because he walked with God every step of the way. In other words, only your love for God and God’s love in return will make you completely happy and fulfilled. Do you want a “Beautiful Life”? Love God, and God will love you on Earth and for all eternity.

EPIPHANY GOAL - $560,000 As of Monday, February 10, we have
received pledges of $416,000.
We still have a long way to go to reach our goal, but with your help we will reach it!
We are most appreciative of all who responded to be part of this great work. If you have not yet done so, please consider sending your pledge and help us achieve our goal. We know from your past support you will respond admirably with your generous pledge to help the needy and the most abandoned.
There is a gift for everyone! No gift is too small!
Because of you…

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
The most important thing about each of us is our capacity for goodness. We can be a source of light.
We have hands that care, eyes that can see, ears that can hear,
tongues that can speak, feet that can walk,
and above all, hearts that can love. Unfortunately, through laziness,
selfishness, and cowardice, our light can be dimmed,
so that we become shadows of the people we could be.
Lord, help us to believe in our own goodness,
and to let the light of that goodness shine. On seeing this light
others find their way, and you will be glorified.
