• Truth behind the Declaration of Independence

• American Revolution was a work of genius

•With the Declaration, the Founding Fathers created the most effective system of national control, and managed to combine paternalism with command

Truth

GAXIOLA, CINDY

• …Truth behind the Declaration of Independence

• 13 colonies were independent from British empire

• Although the Declaration included the right to life, liberty, and happiness, it clearly omitted Indians, Black Slaves, and women

Truth

GAXIOLA, CINDY

• …Truth behind the Declaration of Independence

• Declaration gave rights only to privileged males of the 18th Century

Truth

GAXIOLA, CINDY

• …Truth behind the Declaration of Independence

• In conclusion reality was that:

• “A rising class of important people needed to enlist on their side enough Americans to defeat England, without disturbing too much the relations of wealth and power…”

Truth

GAXIOLA, CINDY

• Boston Committee of Correspondence ordered townsmen to show up on Common for military draft

• There they saw the rich could avoid the draft by paying for substitutes, while the poor had to serve

Tyranny is Tyranny

GAXIOLA, CINDY

• Eventhough the United States had freedom from Britain, it still controlled land similar to them by:

• Omitting Indians, black slaves, and women

• Only giving rights to privileged males

• Tyranny clearly still existed

Tyranny is Tyranny

GAXIOLA, CINDY

“Tyranny is tyranny let it come from whom it may”

GAXIOLA, CINDY
