Curious villagers came out from their houses and were

amused to see a clown. They shouted back to the clownand imitated him while laughing and applauding his'performance'.

The clown who was dead serious about his mission wassurprised that they were not doing anything. The more heshouted, the louder the villagers cheered and laughed.

The problem was not themessage it was proclaimedloud and clear.

The problem was themessenger. What thepeople saw that day was aclown and no one ever takes aclown seriously.

What a clown say and do isnever meant to be believed for

    clowns are meant to entertain.

With his funny costume andcar, how could people haveknown that he was really on aserious mission.Produced by Simon Siew

    So what went

    wrong?

Could it be that, we, themessengers look and behavelike clowns and the way we liveour lives makes us no longercredible?

The way we behave, talk andcarry out our Christian life couldhave contradicted the Gospelmessage.

Consequently, we effectivelynegate the message of theGospel when we present themto the world in such a manner.

Matthew 7:16 - By theirfruit you will recognizethem Every good tree

    bears good fruit.

Deeds and words must gohand in hand. The walk mustprecede the talk if we are tobe serious in our mission ofproclaiming the Gospel.

They are their message. Christians need to look likewhat they're talking about.

    The most effective evangelism today

'The most effectiveevangelism today comesfrom those who embody

    the things they are saying.

John Poulton,'A Today Sort of Evangelism.'

    It's people who

communicate primarily, notwords or ideas. Whatcommunicates now is

    basically personalauthenticity.'

    No dichotomy

There must be nodichotomy between what wesay and what we are; betweenour public, professional lifeand our private life.

Nothing beautifies thegospel message and makes itpowerful than the consistencyof those who preach it.

Nothing gives the gospelmessage more credibility thanthe Christ-likeness of thosewho proclaim it.

    We must embody thegospel.
