Note:The form factor of FlexStack and FlexStack-Plus modules is different , so they can’t be

interchanged.

Each Stack port can handle 20Gb bidirectional traffic, so bandwidth per stack port is 40Gbps

(20*2). There are two stack ports per switch which can connect to two different members. So the

effective stack bandwidth is 80Gbps (40*2).

Mixed Stack – 2960-X Stack with 2960-S switches.

2960-X LAN Base models only can form Mixed Stack.

2960-XR IP Lite models can’t form Mixed Stack.

Mixed Stack can be formed with 2960-S as master or member.

The stack port speed needs to be changed on 2960-X to stack with 2960-S

Switch(config)#switch stack port-speed 10

2960-S based SDM template (default / lanbase-routing) needs to be selected in 2960-X series

to form Mixed Stack.

The capabilities & features of Mixed Stack are limited to 2960-S capabilities.

The Stack bandwidth is limited to 40Gbps (20Gbps per stack port)

The maximum number of stack members is restricted to 4 in Mixed Stack.

Note:IP Lite SKUs can not be stacked with LAN Base SKUs

TCAM Resources-SDM Templates

Note: If default or lanbase-routing SDM templates are chosen on 2960-X Series, the available

TCAM resources are not fully used. These SDM templates should be used only to form

Mixed stack with 2960-S.

IP Lite models can not form mixed stack so the 290-S based SDM templates are not available

on 2960-XR IP Lite models.

250 IPv6 QoS ACEs are only supported on 2960-XR IP Lite with default template, 500 IPv6

QoS ACEs are supported with ipv4 template.
