DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
GETTING OUT IS IN!

6 | City of Bryan Parks & Recreation 2014 Spring/Summer Activity Guide | 7
Welcome to the Spring & Summer Activity
Guide! I encourage you to browse through the
guide to find a program you like or maybe its
time to try something new. With the warmer
weather finally here, it’s the perfect time of
year to get outside and enjoy our many parks,
walking & biking trails and recreation possibilities.
We are especially happy to announce the opening
of Bryan’s new dog park at Morris Buzz
Hamilton Memorial Park. The dog park features
three fenced areas, for both large and small
dogs, and a common area where we will be
holding special events and programs in the
future. Unlike our other parks, dogs will be
allowed off leash once they are within the
fenced areas. The park’s fences, gates and turf
are specifically designed for durability and pet
safety. Amenities, such as water fountains are
uniquely designed for pets and people. The
park also features a pet shower for those who
would like to clean their animal before departing
from the park. The park is located on Boonville
Road immediately adjacent to the parking lot
for the Park Hudson Trail.
As always, we hope you enjoy the spring and
summer seasons and get up, get out and enjoy
all that the City of Bryan Parks and Recreation
has to offer.

The City of Bryan’s Aquatic Boot Camp is designed to push anyone, of any fitness level. This four week class meets twice a week and focuses on aerobic conditioning and toning of the body by using the resistance of the water and a variety of challenging aquatic exercises. AQBC is definitely a step up from water aerobics and your body will know it when the work out is over. It’s also a great option for those who are limited by orthopedic issues. If you think you’re in shape come see for yourself why an aquatic workout will push you to a level you didn’t know existed.
The City of Bryan’s Prenatal/Postpartum water fitness class is fun and challenging for expecting and recent moms! You will use the resistance of the water to tone your body and stay in shape during your pregnancy or after when traditional fitness routines may not be an option.
The Stroke Clinic is designed to give swimmers a chance to refine strokes and improve technique before the Summer swim season begins.
Coming soon. Check out out website for more details.www.BryanParksandRecreation.com
