As part of the WATEC 2011 Exhibition and Conference, we are happy to announce the first CLEANVEST Summit will take place in Tel Aviv on November 14, 2011. At the Summit, which is WATEC’s Investors Conference, we will discuss both the challenges facing the Cleantech investment community and be introduced to new and innovative Israeli technologies. The Summit will serve as a great opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, Cleantech professionals, investors, and government officials that are part of the Cleantech community.

SUMMIT HIGHLIGHTS SESSION 1: CLEANTECH INVESTMENTS IN ISRAEL

• Is Israel a good place to invest? We think it is. International players already invested in Israel will explain why.

• Learn about international funds and investors currently involved in the Israeli and global Cleantech sector; listen to specific case studies and learn how to become a player in Israeli Cleantech investments.

• Are there enough institutional investors in the Cleantech arena today? Definitely not. How can we bring more of them into the game?

• We will try look more thoroughly at the role of the “institutionals” in Cleantech investments.

SESSION 2: CREATING NEW FINANCIAL MODELS FOR THE CLEANTECH MARKET

• There are many financial pitfalls for a Cleantech startup company. Are there ways for companies to avoid them? How can we bridge these gaps?

• There are many platforms in which the different players in the investment community can collaborate in order to improve results. What are they? Are there existing models we can learn from?

• Technological performance is a crucial element in water and energy related installations. Can we guarantee performance? What steps should we take in order to do so?

COMPANY PRESENTATIONS:

It has been long known that Israel is a “start up” nation. Some of the most interesting technological breakthroughs of our era came out of this small country. In recent years, IT, Telecom and Hi-Tech entrepreneurs are shifting towards the Cleantech sector, resulting in very interesting developments. Sixteen of the most innovative Cleantech startups will present their companies in two parallel sessions.

Don’t miss the golden opportunity to hear them all at one location – WATEC’s CLEANVESTSummit!

ISRAEL – LAND OF CLEANTECH OPPORTUNITY

Where there is growth, there lies investment opportunity. Israel’s Cleantech sector is exhibiting dramatic growth, with a proven water sector and quickly growing and innovative renewable energy arena.

A unique combination of factors come together to make Israel a hotbed of Cleantech innovation: a highly skilled work force stemming from a world-leading hi-tech sector, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a lack of natural resources which have made technology a necessity in order to meet water and energy demands.

Moreover, the Israeli government has, since the country’s inception, held water and energy technology development as a national priority. From this approach stem fruitful programs in which government, industry and academia join hands to encourage Cleantech innovations. One such program is Israel NewTech, a unique government program dedicated to fostering Israel’s Cleantech industries by supporting academia and research, encouraging implementation in the local market, and by helping Israeli companies succeed in the international arena.

And the efforts are paying off – exports in the water sector alone have broken through the $2 billion dollar mark in 2010, an astounding 300% increase since 2007. Additionally, renewable energy start-ups are producing breakthrough technologies – from energy crops to photovoltaic systems, from biomass to solar and wind energy.

Israel’s combined water and energy sectors number well over 250 innovative companies; these firms, ranging from start-ups to established powerhouses, produce a range of critical technologies for a cleaner, more sustainable future. They also present a unique opportunity for investment as the market for sustainable solutions continues to expand dramatically the world over.

WHY ISRAEL?
