Our dedicated, experienced team understand that our clients are central to everything we do and are driven to maintain the highest customer service levels through continuousimprovement and consistent, effective communication.
A commercial partnership with LBH Mozambique is a partnership with informed excellence in Ships Agency, Logistics Services and Projects.
LBH has been providing Ships Agency and Logistics Services for decades with offices in major bulk commodity ports across the Southern African region. The scope of the company’s offering has grown substantially and now encompasses Ships Agency, Logistics Services and Projects, driven and guided by market insight and industry intelligence. Merging our specialities across South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia, LBH offers a holistic, intelligence-driven offering throughout the region.
Why LBH Mozambique
Using our wealth of knowledge and experience, combined with global market insight and intelligence, we are able to offer unrivalled value to our clients.
Our substantial global market insight is gained through our market intelligence model, an invaluable resource through which we are able to tailor innovative and formidable solutions throughout our clients’ supply chains.
The LNG Project at Afungi in remote Northern Mozambique is an example of how LBH have used its knowledge, home-grown experience and strategic partnerships to spearhead a local solution to a global challenge, by establishing a niche logistics channel to support the complicated global logistics cargo flows for this greenfield development which will be the largest construction site in the southern hemisphere over the next 5 years.
With a global presence we are able to offer this market intelligence model through our extensively developed global network.
With LBH Group’s presence in 21 different countries over 6 continents, and with 15 branches in Southern Africa alone, we have unprecedented access to local market insight. This ensures that we are able to offer an unparalleled advantage to our clients.
LBH are committed to keeping our clients satisfied by delivering a world-class, innovative and cost-effective service.

Projects Services
LBH is a premier operator in cargo, freight and support services. We specialise in challenging projects and pride ourselves in our ability to innovate and drive solutions for the most complex logistical problems.
Out-of-Gauge & Abnormal Cargo
We excel in the shipping and handling of oversized or irregularly-shaped cargo. Our expert team has the necessary experience and tools to transport our clients’ most challenging cargo. Our out-of-gauge shipping solutions will ensure that our clients never have to worry about the safety and urgent delivery of their cargo – whether the cargo requires self-propelled modular transport (SPMT), low bed trucks and/or airfreight, we will find a solution that works. Our expertise in transporting machinery, transformers, reactors, etc., is limitless.
Break Bulk
Due to their large size or weight, some goods need to be loaded onto a cargo ship or aircraft individually, rather than grouped in shipping containers. This makes loading and unloading the equipment more labour-intensive and potentially more costly. To save our clients time and money, we develop efficient and cost-effective break bulk shipping methods. We can help clients determine when this is a better choice than disassembling, packaging and reassembling the cargo when it reaches its destination.
Flat Racks & Open Tops
Flat rack and open top containers are especially suitable for heavy loads and cargo that needs loading from the top or sides, and cargo that is out-of-gauge. These containers are usually used for cargo such as pipes, machinery, etc. Our qualified team will ensure that the best solution is applied to the specific cargo, enabling us to be absolutely positive that it reaches its destination with no damaged or missing parts.
Rigging, Jacking & Skidding
Heavy pieces require cranes and/or rigging, jacking and skidding systems to lift and position the cargo onto the project site. We at LBH have the regional knowledge and heavy lift expertise to source the necessary equipment to safely transport large heavy items from one site to another.
Duty Exemption
Through our extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with different projects, we are experts in local customs clearance documentation, duties and taxes exemption procedures and rules. From CPI / GAZEDA / MINERAL / O&G to Health Ministry exemption access, we understand customs laws and rules, and ensure that our clients are always well-informed and that their duties are correctly applied.
Scheduling
LBH is able to offer a complete routing and scheduling service, ensuring that managers and operators remain updated with relevant route information. We ultimately aim to assist clients in gathering, coordinating and applying this information to assist in the smooth execution of projects.
LBH can provide a full suite of Clearing & Forwarding services for all your project needs.
Page 5
Documentation
With our decades of experience in sub-Saharan Africa, we are able to ensure that our clients are in possession of all the necessary customs documentation for clearance, and that the documents are officially credible. We understand the importance of this procedure as a crucial step in securing our clients’ supply chain.
Cargo Clearance
LBH is able to ensure the legal passing of all imported, exported and transit cargo through coastal ports, airports, railway and road stations. We have established good working relationships at all major Southern African terminals to ensure that we are well-positioned to manage these processes.

Our team is comprised of seasoned local experts with the right knowledge to proceed with, and supervise all types of project cargo. Our extensive experience in the field, allows us to design each project for the greatest chance of success.

Mozambique General Information
Mozambique Ports Serving SADC Countries
The Mozambican ports are used as import / export transit ports for the inland, land-locked countries in the region (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Malawi), using road and railway connections which are generally in good conditions.
Mozambique has a coastline that stretches for about 2700km, making maritime transport the most economical way of carrying large volumes of cargo from north to south, and vice-versa. There are five major ports: Maputo, Beira, Nacala, Quelimane and Pemba. The ports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala are under management contracts and are run by foreign companies.
The SADC railway industry comprises of 14 operating railways, with 12 owned by the government. There are two concessioned railways, which are Beitbridge Bulawayo Railway and the Central East African Railway. The railways have recently been losing traffic to road transport due to their inefficiency and lack of predictability.
