Clearvision overview

Clearvision Lighting has a 15-year pedigree in ergonomic and environmental lighting. We have been at the leading edge of the industry in adopting new technology and design techniques to improve workplaces and reduce energy consumption.

Our appreciation of daylight has been apparent from the beginning. One of our first innovations in ergonomics was Virtual Daylight® in 1997, which has since been copied by many other companies.

We focus on lens technologies (some patented) that are central to our most successful products. We find that they’re an effective means of optimising design between efficiency, glare control and useful light distribution.

Clearvision is a project lighting company with a focus on customer applications for our products. We therefore provide a full technical support service–including Dialux (plug-in available), AutoCAD, emergency test and control systems.

Please contact our technical department for design and product related questions and sales for project quotations. All queries can be addressed to [email protected] or on 01252 344011.

The Emstar is ideal for the standby emergency lighting

function – DC operation, long life, low power, and precise area

coverage are all suited to LED technology. The LED is a 6000k

1W or 3W (OA/CD) Luxeon driven off a small remote driver

that will fit through the 40mm cut-out. The battery is 3 cell

3.6V NiMH battery which is more environmentally sustainable

than the standard NiCd battery. The bezel is powder coated

aluminium with an operational indicator light. With the growing

prevalence of issues surrounding the life of low mercury

fluorescent lamps running in emergency mode, the Emstar is

proving a smart option.

The contemporary Twinspot is designed for retail/commercial

applications, solving the issues of previous bulky tungsten

halogen versions requiring large expensive batteries. Available

in a choice of colours/finishes and where required, can be

ceiling mounted or even suspended. 3 hour non-maintained

operation.

The majority of Clearvision products are available with a 3 hour

maintained emergency facility, where one of the fluorescent lamps

also functions as the light source under emergency conditions.

Where possible we supply NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) as opposed

to NiCd (Nickel cadmium) battery packs. NiCd contains heavy metal

cadmium which can pose an environmental hazard if not properly

disposed of. NiCd batteries have been banned in Europe under the

RoHs (Restriction of hazardous substances) directive, with their use

for emergency lighting being one of the only exceptions. Typically an

emergency battery pack will require replacement every 3-4 years.

As a response to these issues Clearvision has introduced an LED

emergency facility into the Kallista, Corona 2, Calyx, Chiara and

the Oslo ranges as a standard option. Please contact our technical

department for compatibility with other products.

As with our conventional emergency range, LED emergency is

available in self-test (to BS EN 62034 : 2006) and central test

(including Clearvision’s E-Sense central testing system). Please refer

to the following pages for features and benefits.

Integral emergencies

Key benefits of the Integral Emergency• No interference with fluorescent lamp life

• Smaller batteries - lower replacement cost

• Lower energy use - During charge cycle, during use

• Basic, self-test and central-test/reporting versions available

• Latest generation LED technology

• Light is direct to where it is needed

Page 9: Clearvision Emergency Lighting Brochure

The integral emergency facility is a small 1.2W LED emitter installed neatly within the corner of the luminaire, it directs the light exactly where it’s needed under emergency conditions.Due to the lower energy requirement of the LED a smaller battery pack can be supplied and is installed, together with the emergency driver, within the luminaire. The green LED charge indicator is incorporated within the emitter and is also used for self-test reporting. The long life of LEDs, coupled with the limited hours of use demanded by this application, make the Kallista and Corona 2 LED emergency option a robust solution. Available in standard, self-test and central test versions.

Both the Calyx (suspended) and Chiara (surface) are available

with a 3 hour integral LED emergency option. Featuring all the

benefits described previously on page 8, this facility is provided

by a small emitter housed neatly within a curved enclosure,

finished to match the luminaire ends. Status indication is

incorporated within the emitter, whilst the NiMH battery pack

is easily accessible within the luminaire’s gear compartment.

Sitting neatly within the reflector, the Oslo’s LED emergency

facility is designed to eliminate both the lamp life issues of

running compact fluorescents as an emergency light source

and the additional labour installing a separate, dedicated

emergency LED product would require. Status indication is

incorporated within the emitter, whilst the NiMH battery pack

is easily accessible within the ceiling void. Supplied non-

maintained as standard.
