CLIMATE CHANGEPlease take a few minutes to walk around
the room and answer the questions on poster paper. When you’re finished, please
take a seat.
What is climate change?
Climate change is the effect of heat-trapping greenhouse gases that are released by humans burning fossil fuels (like coal and oil).
U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change:“It is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed
warming since the mid-20th century.”
What does our Jewish text teach us about
climate change? Please look at the number on your card and go to the place in the room with that number for a Living Talmud small group discussion.
How do the texts in the Living Talmud speak to the scenario from the short video clip?
What would you do, given our texts, to protect those communities?
