Technology and Livelihood Education(TLE) is a part of learning areas in Philippine Secondary Schools. Its components are: Home Econo-mics, Agri-Fishery Arts, Industrial Arts and Information and CommunicationsTechnology. Department of Education (DepEd) is implementing to have anexploration (Grade 7 and 8) andspecialization phase (Grade 9 – 12) through the help of Technical Edu-cation and Skills DevelopmentAuthority (TESDA). Having an explora-tion phase in TLE is a great benefit for theincoming grade 9 students because it will guide them to decide if their skills are either technical or livelihood. As they make up their minds, it is the time for them to choose their specialization. Calumpang National High School is one of the schools in Laguna where TLE teachers employed are ofdifferent expertise. We are lucky enough that even from old curriculum to present curriculum, students are able to enroll their preference. It is an advantage for one student to have his/her specialization because they will not get confused in getting their courses thus leading them to the right path in college. Their knowledge and skills will also apply to practical living. Students will experience earning while schooling. (E.Conte)

-Lovely Reyes (Grade 7 - Zeus)

-Keildy Ann Cresencio (III-Magnesium)

What if, there is no technology? What if there is no technology? Can you imagine our world if there is no electricity, no com-puters, no gadgets and no appliances anymore. Life won’t be easier like what we have today. Everyday in our life, we need all those products of technology specially electricity for ev-eryday use. Vehicles are needed for us to go from one place to another and in just short period of time, you can easily reach your destination. Appliances help many housekeepers to make their work much easier and faster specially the household works of mothers. On the other hand, students really depend on internet and computer for more advanced and efficient way of learning and gaining ideas. We can research anything and in just one click, informa-tion that you need will be yours immediately. And of course, because of technology we can communi-cate to our relatives and friends even if they are far from us with the use of mobile phones and social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Skype. The products are very useful in our life, in fact, invented for a good purpose. But sadly, some of us use technology for nonsense, useless and abusive purposes. There are people who are using technol-ogy in making pornographic films. Others are using it as tool for cybersex. Most teen agers devote their time in playing on line games. Let us remember that in every benefit there are always corresponding responsibilities. We have to make technology as a useful tool and not a dangerous invention of man for without it, maybe we are still stuck in a world of progression.

Technology: Yesterday, Today and Beyond Time is passing by and in a single blink of our eyes, our today would be our yesterday and in a single second, the future will be our today. This is brought about by the fast progression of technology in our world. As a result, modernization, industrialization and globalization will arise in our world and we could notice the big gap between tech-nology yesterday, today and tomorrow. Mobile phones, computers, laptops and other moderngadgets are still upgrading. New inventors are being more frequent. Newdiscoveries continue to give new concepts in man’s daily activi-ties. Such discoveries and inventions visions a picture of a more modernized and innovative living. Technology can make almosteverything we need. It has many contributions in the field of medicine, agriculture, architectural works, transportations, communications and many more. It also contributes a lot in terms of production of goods and services. If there is what we called “kalesa” yesterday, cars areinvented and upgraded today, hovercrafts will carry us in our fu-ture. In addition, more improved skyways will be constructed in themodern world. Holographic calls may also be invented. In terms ofcuring, new medicines might be created to cure diseases. It could not beimpossible to happen because laboratories didn’t stop to discover new formula. Future with technology will offer much modern world for

Best Moment Ever! February 21, 2014 – one of the most memorable moment in my life. This is the night when the JS Prom was held in our school. I arrived at 5:30 PM. I changed my clothes in the computer room and shot some pictures which will serve as my remembrance in this once in the lifetime event .As the music began to play, beautiful gowns, good

looking outfits and sweet melody made the event a unique celebration. The balloon arc and the new stage gave the venue a pleasant look. I looked for my partner so that we can prepare for the incoming ceremony. When the program started, we took some photos at the balloon arc and at the stage. After the speech of the staff, we began candle light ceremony. We took a break and ate dinner after the cotil-lion dance. We also joined the “Search for Mr. and Ms. JS 2014”. Even if I wasn’t chosen as one of the finalists, I was still happy to have an experience in that moment. After the program, the music and beat flowed and students started to dance again. When the sweet melody started to play, I invited my first dance, my classmates, then followed by my friends from III-Magnesium and IV-Einstein. Of course, I had not forgotten to invite my partner at the dance floor. My friends and I rolled when hip-hop music played. We had a lot of bonding the whole night. And, speaking with the best dance? My 7th dance is my best one. The event ended at 4:00 in the morning. I arrived at 5:30 at home. It took over a week before I get over in this very memorable, lovable and unforgettable celebration in my life – the JS Promenade 2014!

ibinurda. Palakai-bigan at mapagpatuloy.
