Individual/Household Income Taxes

This table shows tax brackets for people. By finding how much money you make on the left, you can determine how much you pay to the government on the right. Notice: The more money you make, the larger amount you pay in taxes.

Corporate TaxesThese are “Corporate” Tax Rates – the percent of the money a company earns in profits that they must pay the government. Many companies realize that they can save money in taxes by “moving” their company overseas. They can still sell products here, but must store the money in banks in other countries.

Some people say that it is a violation of rights to trap someone in a hospital room for three weeks even though they show no symptoms, while others say it’s a necessary precaution. What do you think? 5. Do you think it’s fair that companies move their stuff overseas to save money on taxes? GE (General Electric) famously paid zero taxes for years in a row. However, many of these companies say that they do this since the US tax rates are too high. Whose side are you on? Explain your answer.
