Winter, 2017 COALITION EDITION As usual, there are lots of exciting things going on at the Coalition! Here are a few recent and upcoming events: Resale Expansion: The new donation and sorting area at the Resale Shops is almost complete! Thank you to our loyal donors, shoppers and volunteers for your patience during construction. This space will improve turnover time and allow us to better serve the community. Shoes for Students: Last fall, the Coalition provided new athletic shoes to 205 students from five area elementary schools. Students were referred by the school, and shoes were distributed at Shoe Carnival in Aberdeen. Everyone involved agreed that the smiles on the kids’ faces were priceless! Empty Bowls: We are planning for our 2017 Empty Bowls event, and there are lots of ways to get involved. Both artists and amateurs are invited to make pottery bowls or visit The 9th of September to paint bowls to donate to the event. A variety of sponsorship and ticket options are also available. Visit the “Coalition News” page on our website for more information. Volunteers Needed: The Coalition is fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers who give their time to help make our services and events possible. We are always in need of additional help! If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact me via email at [email protected] or by calling (910) 693-1600. Even if you aren’t able to volunteer, we welcome visitors to tour our operation! Barrett Walker, Executive Director

COALITION EDITION

As usual, there are lots of exciting things going on at the Coalition! Here are a few recent and upcoming events:

Resale Expansion:

The new donation and sorting area at the Resale Shops is almost complete! Thank you to our loyal donors, shoppers and volunteers for your patience during construction. This space will improve turnover time and allow us to better serve the community.

Shoes for Students:

Last fall, the Coalition provided new athletic shoes to 205 students from five area elementary schools. Students were referred by the school, and shoes were distributed at Shoe Carnival in Aberdeen. Everyone involved agreed that the smiles on the kids’ faces were priceless!

Empty Bowls:

We are planning for our 2017 Empty Bowls event, and there are lots of ways to get involved. Both artists and amateurs are invited to make pottery bowls or visit The 9th of September to paint bowls to donate to the event. A variety of sponsorship and ticket options are also available. Visit the “Coalition News” page on our website for more information.

Volunteers Needed:

The Coalition is fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers who give their time to help make our services and events possible. We are always in need of additional help! If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact me via email at [email protected] or by calling (910) 693-1600. Even if you aren’t able to volunteer, we welcome visitors to tour our operation!
