CoastHotelsAnnouncesAcquisitionbyJapan’sLargestHotelNetwork-APAHotelGroup

VANCOUVER,BC(September6th2016)–Canadian-basedCoastHotelshasannounceditsacquisitionbyAPAHotelGroup,thelargesthotelnetworkinJapan.ThebusinessdealmarksaneweraofexpansionintoNorthAmericaforAPAHotelGroup,whichhasbuiltareputationonitsownUrbanStyleHotelconceptprovidinghighquality,highlyfunctionalandenvironmentallyfriendlyhotelsforitscustomers.APAHotelGrouppreviouslyhad373propertiesinJapan,andoneintheUnitedStates.WiththeacquisitionofCoastHotels,APAhasnowgrownitsnetworktoincludemorethan400locations.CoastHotels,withareputationforqualityandfriendlyservice,aswellasthevitalservicingofmanycommunitiesinthePacific-Northwest,has38brandedpropertiesinWesternNorthAmerica.“WearedelightedthatanorganizationasentrepreneurialandrespectedasAPAHotelGrouphaschosenCoastHotelsasitsrouteintotheNorthAmericanmarket,”saidVictorKomoda,PresidentofCoastHotels.“Thisdealisgreatnewsforourcustomers,whowillbenefitfromthenewurbanstylehotelconceptAPAhasbroughttothehospitalityindustry.”TheannouncementwasmadeatajointpressconferenceattheCoastCoalHarbourHotelindowntownVancouver,attendedby:Mr.ToshioMotoya,FounderofAPAGROUP,Ms.FumikoMotoya,PresidentofAPAHOTELS,aswellasMr.VictorKomoda,PresidentofCoastHotels.AtthepressconferenceMr.Motoyastated“CoastHotelsisarecognizedandrespectedbrand.APAGROUPintendstopositionCoastHotelsasasub-brandofAPAHotels&Resorts,boostingtheabilitytoattractgueststhroughthesynergyoftheexpandedbrandofferings.”Mr.Motoyafurtheradvised“APAexpectstomakeVancouver,whichisstrategicallylocatedtoleverageAsiaPacific,itsbaseofoperationsandheadofficeforNorthAmericandevelopment.”
