Inclement Weather Busing: Please check the Black Gold website for up to date information on busing. http://www.blackgold.ca/ When buses are cancelled throughout Black Gold, the following radio and TV stations will be notified: Radio:
CFCW (840 AM), CHED (630 AM), CFRN (1260 AM), INEWS (880 AM), JOE (92.5 FM), CISN (103.9 FM) and CBC (740 AM), THE ONE (93.1 FM). TV: CityTV, Global, Weather Network.
Beaumont schools are usually open even when buses are not running. Parents should ensure that the school is open before deciding to drive their children to school. Please also ensure the children are able to get into the building before driving away. Occasionally, parents decide to drive their children to school when the buses are not running. In such cases parents need to be aware that they will have to return at 3:15 p.m. to collect their children. When buses do not run in the mornings due to weather, they do not run in the afternoons either. Buses are sometimes required to leave before the end of the school day. Every effort will be made to contact parents, but parents should listen to the radio if they think the weather is deteriorating, in order to be aware of closures. It is imperative that the school has accurate home and work, cell and phone numbers. If you are not sure that numbers are current, call the school and check. Children should be aware of what to do if they arrive home and parents are not there to receive them.
Skating Grades 2-6 Students in Grades Two to Six will be
skating in January and February. Students will be bused to the KNRRC rink and will skate with their class. There is no cost associated with this activity as the School Council is generously paying for the buses
needed to transport students.
Students must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet, properly fitted skates
and gloves or mitts.
Skates must be transported in a cloth bag for protection of the child as well as his/her
classmates. This is also a rule for the safe transportation of skates on Black Gold buses. Permission forms are available online.
Parents are welcome to join their child’s class. Please make sure a volunteer form is filled in at
school.
Schedule will be posted on EBMS website.
Early Pick Up School Policy Parents, when coming to pick up your child before the end of the day please, always stop in the office to sign them out on the computer and wait in the office for your child to come down from the classroom. This helps us to know who is entering and leaving the school for the safety of all of our students. If you are sending someone else to pick up your child please make sure the office is informed of who that person is. Also please let the other person know what the policy at the school is for picking up students before dismissal times. Thank you for your understanding with this process.
Skiing/Snowboarding Gr 4-6
Ski lessons are booked for January 24 and March 6 as part of our Physical Education program for Grade Four, Five and Six students. Parents will be notified when the
permission form are available in Powerschool.
All students will be taking lessons, regardless of their skiing or snowboarding ability.

Shayla Chwyl has been picking different charities to collect donations for at Christmas for the last 6 years. This year Shayla and her sister Emily chose the Ronald McDonald House Charity. They collected items from family and friends and delivered them to the Ronald McDonald House in December.
SCHOOL BUS TIPS! TELL SOMEONE
When you get off the bus, make sure
your parent knows where you are going or go straight home.
If you miss the bus at the school, go into the school office
and they will help you call your
parent for a ride. Do not walk home.
