BRIEF TITLE: YCN Lego Brief

Why have you chosen to work with your creative partner? What are your aims? I am impressed by the work he produces. He has ambitious ideas and very good production skills. We both have similar opinions on what ‘good’ design is, to go along with this we have a varied skillset. We want to experiment with processes this brief and develop an idea that effectively communicates what Lego’s qualities, one that Lego will implement either. What are your specific areas of creative interest in this brief? Film, stop-motion, we both want to have an outcome that requires production. To get away from the computer and make and build things with our hands. What specific design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them? Conceptual skills, storytelling, typography, layout and communication. Storytelling, communication and conceptual skills will be important for this brief. Working out visual cues and symbols that represent emotions will make or break an effective outcome for this brief.

What specific non-design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them? Time management, commitment, constantly reading and looking at reference books. I intend to use these skills to manage the project effectively, leaving plenty of time for amendments. I will need to manage any equipment needed for production of the campaign. Reading about visual symbols and representations will help make an effective visual to represent the memories and potential of Lego.

What will your specific roles be in the collaboration in relation to your brief? David Project management, production, layout, typography, presentations. Jack Illustration, production, presentations. What will your individual responsibilities be in relation to your brief? Project management. Layout. Typography. Production. Presentations. What will your joint responsibilities be? The biggest challenge we will face is time management. I want to allow ourselves time to do the project twice if required. The production will be a joint responsibility. It will be a relatively long production process. It will also be our responsibility to keep the project fun and to keep each other motivated.
