Graduation Review Process
• Seniors will meet with their counselors and receive a graduation plan, transcripts, and credit evaluations during October and November
• Signatures required by parent and student
• All seniors need to complete by October/November

• 45 Community service hours = 15 per year
• 13th year plan – completed at registration

Over 50 college, universities, apprenticeship & military representatives will be in
attendance.
Break out sessions include AP/College in the high school, Running Start & ORCA, Everett CC information, financial aid overview, & writing a college essay.
Senior parent FAFSA presentation will be mid-October (specific date TBD)

PSAT/SAT/ACT
• PSAT (typically for Juniors) testing is on October 10th-students will be notified of sign up dates soon
• SAT- 3 hour test that measures verbal and math reasoning skills; with new writing section; typically taken by high school juniors and seniors
• ACT- 2 hour 55 minute test that covers four skill areas: English, math, reading and science with optional writing section

SAT Prep Class
• Begins September 25th – October 16th
• 6:00-8:00 p.m. every Tuesday

• Cost $100 which covers the book, and 3 classes for each content area, and a final exam on the last class.
• Registration opens September 19th both online and at the finance window.
• Instructors are Suzan Horn and Kelly Guilfoil
Freshman Admissions
Admission departments use a comprehensive review and holistic approach incorporating:
• Essay or personal statement
• Rigor of classes
• Grade trend
• SAT and/ACT scores
• Extracurricular activities
College & Technical School Admission
• All colleges and universities require a high school transcript, SAT Reasoning or ACT scores, and supplemental materials as indicated
• Community Colleges require a high school transcript and possible SBAC scores
• Many technical colleges require an admissions tests such as the Accuplacer, Compass and/or an interview
• ASVAB – Military Aptitude Test –offered at LSHS mid-December
Transcripts Requests
• Request transcripts from:

NCAA Eligibility Center
• Student-athletes must register on website
• Turn in authorization form to Mrs. Chilson
• Need 16 core courses (1 course=1 year) for Division I schools
• Need 16 core courses for Division II schools
• Register at www.ncaa.org
NAIA Eligibility Center
• High school students who complete their junior year with an overall 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and score 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT may receive an eligibility decision from the NAIA Eligibility Center
• You must register with the NAIA Center, have your high school send an official transcript to the NAIA Eligibility Center and send in ACT/SAT test scores to the NAIA (via collegeboard.org or act.org)

Financial Aid
• FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) -if you think you will need help paying for college expenses you should apply www.fafsa.ed.gov
