THE NEW STAFFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL

Stafford voters decided in November

that it was time to build a new Stafford

Middle School! The new Stafford Middle

School will house grades 6 through 8.

The current campus was built in the

1980's, and it's time for a change!

We included some 1980's Rock Music to

emphasize the point.

English Teacher Franchelle Hill as the

#CommittedtoSMSD Employee of the Month for

December.

Hill is the head coach of the Stafford High Girls Track

& Field Team. She arrived at Stafford with impressive

credentials from her time coaching at 6A Hightower.

She is joined in the photo by SMSD Superintendent

Dr. Robert Bostic and SMSD Associate Athletic

Director Sergio Hinojosa.

SMSD SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOWLINGCongratulations to the Stafford Spartans Special Olympics Bowling Team on their

phenomenal performance earlier this month.

They were honored by the SMSD Board of Trustees on Monday!

There were 11 athletes across the district that competed in the Area 22 Bowling

Tournament last Saturday in Webster, TX.

through a fundraiser with Barnes & Noble at the

First Colony Mall in Sugar Land.

(U.S. 90-A) will begin donating 15

percent of its sales to Stafford MSD

every Monday night through March,

with the exception of Christmas Day.

Mention “SMSD” between the hours of

3-10 p.m. on Mondays, and they will

donate to SMSD.

STAFFORD’S SMITH COMMITS TO ALABAMACongratulations to Stafford High senior Dylan Smith, who

became the first SHS Spartan to earn a baseball

scholarship to a Southeastern Conference (SEC) school.

Smith is headed to the University of Alabama in

Tuscaloosa, Ala. to play baseball.

Smith is an outstanding student who excels on the

baseball diamond and the football field. He will study

Mechanical Engineering at Alabama.

A lifelong Stafford resident, he chose Stafford MSD

before his junior year after attending parochial schools

for a decade.

Stafford High Boys Basketball Coach Torrence Botts, Stafford High Girls

Basketball Coach Mark Spivey and Stafford High Swim Coach Chris Rode.

Both the SHS Boys & Girls Basketball Teams were picked to win District by

Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball Magazine.

The Player Profile is Stafford High junior girls basketball player Chaunta

Thomas, who was All-District as a sophomore.
