Opportunities at COC Below is a list of the different programs you may choose to complete. The college encourages you to
meet with a counselor to discuss your academic/career goals and develop your student educational plan.
• Transfer Programs– 60 transferable lower units (100 & 200 level)– General education (IGETC or CSU GE) + major preparation and Electives– www.assist.org for UC/CSU major preparation requirements– Leads to admissions to a four-year college/university– Various major and GPA requirements for highly selective majors
• Associate Degree Programs– 60 units or more based on major– General Education + Major and Electives– 2.0 GPA and Good Standing Academically– Leads to employment and/or transfer– Is not required for transfer, but can be a supplement to your resume.– Review the Majors summary for choices in the AA/AS
• Certificate Programs– 7-36 units of field specific coursework– Job skills development– Leads to employment, AA degree and/or transfer
• Basic Skills Training– Pre-100 Level Courses - Strengthen reading/writing and critical thinking skills– Leads to employment, certificate, AA, and/or transfer– S4S and Reentry Skills Workshops
