Get Money: The ComebackEdition The first session focused on access tocapital and funding, one of the keyhurdles women minority businessenterprises (WMBEs) face today. Thediscussion provided real-time resourceson how to get the capital needed tomove to the next phase of growth.

The session featured four financial andcapital industry executives: Carla A.Harris, Vice Chairman of WealthManagement and Senior Client Advisorat Morgan Stanley, Monika Mantilla, Co-founder and Managing Partner at SBCC,Carmen Ortiz-McGhee, Executive VicePresident at National Association ofInvestment Companies, and ReginaHeyward, Senior VP and Head ofSupplier Diversity at Wells Fargo &Company.

Session 2: Wednesday, May 20

Fireside Chat: Lisa Price, Founderof Carol's Daughter Lisa Price, Founder of Carol’s Daughter,joined the Virtual Series on week two andspoke about her personal experiences asa working mother, career woman andentrepreneur.

Lisa shared her story on the economicuncertainty she endured upon startingher business and what she did to growher brand to a multi-million-dollar haircare empire!

The discussion was bubbling withaffirmations and wisdom that helpedsustain Lisa Price’s more than 25-yeargrowth and domination of the beautyindustry and provided a looking glass forall the entrepreneurs working in theirpassion.

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), in partnership with theNational Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), powered by The Coca-Cola Company hosted the Enterprising Women of Color Forum: The Formula For aWinning Comeback.

The 4-week virtual series empowered and promoted women of color entrepreneurslooking to reevaluate their business strategies during these challenging times and tohelp them to formulate a WINNING COMEBACK strategy.

Valeisha's wealth of knowledge andexperience showed us how vulnerabilityis a crucial factor to success. From astruggling intern to a thrivingsuccessful executive, Valeisha is theepitome of what an enterprising womanof color can truly represent with drive,passion, and commitment.

A panel discussion concluded the virtualsession and covered topics on financingand defining your brand as well asknowing what questions to ask whenstarting a new business.

Over 2,000 women of color andminority business owners from aroundthe world tuned into the final edition ofthe virtual series the day after#BlackoutTuesday!

Terrez Thompson from The Coca-ColaCompany led the first half of the seriesand interviewed mental health expertand celebrity therapist, Dr. Sherry Blakewho provided some AMAZING insight ontrauma, the importance of self-care, andthe fundamentals of mental health.

The series ended with a remarkableconversation between author andbusiness strategist, Nic CoberJohnson, and celebrity actress and haircare entrepreneur, Taraji P. Henson. Thecandid discussion focused onthe importance of overall physical andmental health care for women of colorin your personal and professional lifeand the balance between strength andvulnerability.

One of the things that has beenmy secret sauce is knowing when
