Please see important dates and events of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists below.

(1) Notice of the East Jamaica Conference 4th Quadrennial Session

Notice is hereby given that the Fourth Quadrennial Session of the East Jamaica Conference of

Seventh-day Adventists will be held at the Kencot Seventh-day Adventist Church 10-12 Osbourne

Road, Kingston 5, Jamaica, on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16, 2014.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Registration will be held

(2) Notice from the Sabbath School, Personal Ministries & Comm. Services Dpt.

1. Reminding all Sabbath School Superintendents & Personal Ministries Leaders to:

i. Submit your end of Quarter Report by the 10th of July 2014.

5. EJC Annual Community Fun Day and Ambassador Bring & Buy Sale - August 6, Zone 4 &

August 10, 2014, Zones 1 - 3 (Community Services Leaders are reminded to collect the

tickets at the CS Dept. - EJC). Proceeds from the fund day are in aid of Community Youth

Education Programme. We need all your recyclable plastic bottles for the Ambassador Bottle

Drive – drop-off point, EJC office on Thursdays.

6. IAD/EJC SOE ADULT SABBATH SCHOOL TEACHERS’ CORPORATE CLASS

SESSIONS: Calling and reminding all Adult Sabbath School Teachers to attend the next

corporate class session, which will convene on Sunday August 17, 2014 at 9:00 a.m, at the

Half Way Tree SDA Church (for all Zones). The topic to be presented is ‘Laws of Teaching

and Learning’. KINDLY TAKE YOUR REFRESHMENT WITH YOU AT THIS TIME.

7. Birthday greetings to our seniors, born in the month of July; wishing you good health and a

blessed and peaceful 2014.

(3) Women’s Ministries Department

1. Youth and children missionaries to Corzol, Belize solicit your prayers for their mission trip

which will be held from July 24 – August 18, 2014 as well as invite you to their consecration

service which will be held at the Meadowvale SDA Church on Sabbath, July 12 @ 4 p.m.

Kindly bring an offering with you.

2. Team members, Little is much when God is in it. A letter was sent to all Pastors/ Elders

soliciting a contribution of J$500.00 or more from each church. We ask that you help us collect

same.

3. 2014 & 2015 Missionaries, come help in the spread of the gospel through the sale of Metro

Mission crusade DVDs. A surprise awaits you for every sale you make. Call the Youth and

Children’s ministries Departments for details.

4. All women’s ministries team members are asked to send your contribution to the office by

Friday July 11, 2014 to assist with the Stadium Community SDA Church Mothers’ Room and

the Belize missionaries.

5. Venue for October retreat 2014 will be announced soon. Kindly put aside your J$ as well US $.

Credit cards will be accepted. Don’t be caught napping.

6. Kindly remember to send your second quarter’s reports to the office.

1. Children & Youth preachers’ consecration service will be held at Meadowvale SDA on Sabbath

July 12, 2014. We begin promptly @ 4:00 p.m.

2. CMDs - Kindly send in the names of the Bible Spell-a-thon Church/District finalists, as well as

return to the office the master trophies.

3. Team members we solicit a contribution from all of you to assist our missionaries to Corzol,

Belize. ‘Little is much when God is in it’. CMDs please do some leg work on behalf of the

missionaries. Kindly collect the J$500 contribution that we requested from all the churches. With

your support the missionaries will clear their expenses.

4. The VBS package is one of the most exciting, informative and relevant packages of all times.

CMDs kindly pick up your Journey to Health Land. We ask that ALL churches use this package

this year for VBS. Your parent tips for 3rd and 4th quarters are in the package.

5. 2014 & 2015 Missionaries, come help in the spread of the gospel through the sale of Metro

(5) Notices from the Health Ministries & Stewardship Department

1. Medical Missionary training will be held July 27- September 13, 2014. Cost $7,800.

2. Health Summit – August 14-17, 2014 in Mandeville, under the theme, “Protecting Your

Health.” The main presenters will be Dr. Hansel Fletcher and Dr. Craig Jackson, Professors

at Loma Linda University, California.

3. Leadership & Professional Development Seminar—September 3-4, 2014. Please see website

for details.

(6) Youth Ministries Department

1. BIBLE BOOM 2014: It’s almost time for the play-offs to begin and Bible Boom promises to

be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are Hosea-Micah. Every

AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of the WORD!!!

2. FEDERATION DAYS: ZONE ONE (1). Will be held on July 12, 2014 at the Macedonia

Church. Guest Speaker will be Pastor Clavour Tucker, NJC.

3. SUMMER CAMP 2014: It’s that time of year again when our children and youth are all

excited about Summer Camp. Based on the unavailability of Camp Don for August 5-12

2014, the camp date has been moved to July 21-28. This means there will only be one

camp, with age related activities. Closing date for all registration has been extended to

Friday July 11, 2014.

Application form can be collected at the office of the Youth Ministries Department or on line

at ejcsda.com. I take this opportunity to also remind you that each church has been asked to

sponsor at least one person to this much anticipated event. The cost for Camp is the same

as last year-$6,000.00.

As per usual we ask that each church sponsors at least one youth...we will be more than

happy if you send us some of the unbaptized youth of the church.

Looking forward to seeing you at Summer Camp 2012, as together we’ll fellowship and

enjoy the rich spiritual blessings that await us. Application Form can be accessed from the

4. AUDITION-EJC MASS CHOIR: An audition is scheduled for Sabbath, July 19, 2014 at

the Conference Office, 74 Constant Spring Road (10) at 7:30 p.m. , please contact me at 319-

5. INDEPENDENCE DAY: Drill Squads, Pathfinders and Master Guides, please get prepared

for the annual National Independence Day Service.

(7) Notice from the Family Life Department

1. The National Singles Convention is to be held August 23-24, 2014 at Duncans, Trelawny.

(Please click here for registration form) We invite those who are interested in attending to

register through the EJC Family Ministries Department. See upcoming events on the EJC

website for flyer. In the light of these activities the East Jamaica Conference will not be

having a Singles Convention for 2014. However, November 29, 2014 will be celebrated as

Singles day within each church.

1. Zone 4 will be hosting a Choir Fest July 20, 2014 at the Morant Bay High School. Please see

the upcoming events section of the EJC website for details and flyer below.

2. The Florence Hill Circuit of SDA churches will be hosting a health fair at the Lawrence

Tavern Primary School on July 27, 2014 starting at 10 a.m. Health Checks will be done along

with School Medicals at a low cost. Items will also be on sale.

3. The Education and Family Ministries Department of the Meadowvale SDA Church presents

Career & Development Expo on the church grounds on July 20, 2014 with guest speaker Dr.

Henley Morgan. The Expo will begin at 10:00am. All are invited. See poster below for

more information.

4. Chapelights Ministry presents George Gordon, with the launch of his second Album - "I will

Go" on Saturday August 2, 2014 at Merl Grove High School Auditorium. See poster below

for further details.

(10) Communication Department

1. Sabbath July 12, 2014 has been designated "Communication Day" on the EJC Calendar

of events. While we are aware that not every church will recognize Communication Day

on June 12 for various reason, it is our hope that this day will be used to bring to the

attention of everyone how important it is for every member of the church to communicate

the love of Christ and His soon return to those we meet with on a daily basis.
