Mission Statement
It Began with Two Questions
Question 1…
• What three (3) strategies do we use to create a valued service for the individuals we support?
Question 2…
• What three (3) strategies might we use to create increased value to service for the individuals we support?

The brainstorm…
• Each associate was asked to answer the two questions with three main ideas each– What we came up with was then
categorized under one of the values of the agency (I.C.A.R.E.)
The scramble…
• Once comments were placed under one of the categories– Each associate was asked to scan all
the comments (except for their own) and realign them under one of the other core value areas – if needed

Possible restructure of StArcky Day Hab schedules
Enjoyable structured activities
Motivate individuals to do for themselves
Help others increase in identified goal areas

Help individuals meet others and make new friends
Advocate for individuals ensuring they get services they value
Deliver services less difficult for the person to succeed then increase as we go along
I try different activities to see how my group likes it
Take the time to work on goals, clearly explain and answer questions
Listen to what the individual really likes and wants without passing judgment Without solving problems for them
Increased communication between providers Between all divisions
Use humor Focus on humor/jokes to keep people motivated Make them laugh even when they are sad. Humor is the best!
Being positive and happy
Encourage individuals and their families that they can learn and succeed in their dreams.
Take time to talk with someone who needs to talk.
Get to know the individual know our people make activities more fun
Think outside the box more creative w/choices what choices I can pro- vide?
Make myself available to everyone – assist at StArcky “U” when needed
More time to provide staff training in areas of need.
Improve – more prepared and better trained associates

Creativity, respect and encouragement to do activities they don’t think they can do. Show them how fun things can be.
Set appropriate boundaries so people have clear expectations and what they can get from services.

Community Supports’ mission is to provide encouragement and support to the individual in partnership with educated and trained associates, using the most holistic approaches in a spirit of understanding, and in celebration of each one’s accomplishments. Through continued lifelong learning strategies addressing the entire person, the individual will build the confidence needed
to maximize on their full potential, and to become an inclusive part of their community.
