 ANYBUS COMPACTCOM

Active and Passive

modules provide a

complete communication

solution.

The growing use and fragmentation of Industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus communicationmakes it even more difficult to decide whichnetworks to support when you release a new product. Is only Profibus enough for you or doyou need to support several fieldbuses? What

about Ethernet, which industrial versions willbe the right choice? Should you have USB orRS232? Will your customers ask for wireless like WiFi or Bluetooth? Is there any new technology coming up?

Where do you intend to sell your product, whichnetworks are used in different countries anddifferent industries? What about conformanceand certification? There are many factors that need be consideredbefore selecting the right communicationinterface for your product. With Anybus-CC youhave full flexibility and can choose from a widerange of connectivity solutions for your product.

Gone are the days of a long and complex in-design for network connectivity. The flexibility

of the Anybus-CC is unrivaled. You canchoose from modules supporting Fieldbusnetworks, any Ethernet protocol, USB, Wirelessor even a Serial interface without having tomake any hardware or software changes to yourproduct. With fewer requirements to size, cost,

interface methods and performance, the Anybus-CC reaches an even wider target marketfor automation devices.

It can easily be integrated into traditional devicessuch as PLC’s, Drives, Robot Controllers, WeighScales, HMI’s, but thanks to its small size isnow also ideal for Valve Manifolds, Motion and Temperature Controllers, Sensors, I/O Blocksand Bar Code Readers, just to name a few

applications.

Anybus Compact-Com, (Anybus-CC), has been designed to meet modern network

connectivity requirements, featuring low price, small size and an easy integration

process. At the same time, Anybus-CC provides the performance and functionality

required to meet the communication demands of HMI’s, robot controllers, drives, valve blocks, instruments, scales and many more industrial products.

The Anybus-CC module uses the CompactFlash ® form factor and connector. The

module is completely covered by a robust plastic housing, which enables easy

handling and installation at any time in the logistic chain between manufacturer

and end customer.

Innovative design and

functionality - providing

optimal flexibility.

With its unique CompactFlash® connection the Anybus-CC

simply plugs into the host application.

There are two versions of Anybus-CC modulesavailable.

Active Modules: Handles the full protocolstack up to Layer 7, suitable for networks such asProfibus, EtherNet/IP or CC-Link. Allnecessary software and hardware is included onthe active Anybus- CC modules and they can beinterfaced through an asynchronousserial interface or via a parallel interface. Bothinterface alternatives support the same data

exchange methods, functionality and features.

● 8-bit 2kB Dual Port Ram Parallel Interface

● Asynchronous half duplex SCI Serial Interface

Passive Modules: Handles basic

communications tasks such as converting serial telegrams to any supported network. It issuitable for USB, Bluetooth or as an EthernetSerial Server.

● Passive SCI Serial Interface (Transparent pass-through)

Link Module: The Link Module conceptconsists of an active Anybus-CC moduleconnected to an external converter that enablescommunication on the selected network. This

is a way to use the Anybus-CC concept alsofor legacy networks such as Modbus Plus orInterbus.

mounting screws are required.

The only thing that needs to be

considered is the fastening holes in

the PCB. The PE (Protected earth)

connection is made on module

insertion, via a metallic clip at the

bottom of the module.
