THREE TYPES OF ADJECTIVES
• SHORT ADJECTIVES (one syllabe and some two-syllabe adj.)– Big– Wide
• LONG ADJECTIVES (two and more syllabes)– Interesting– Intelligent
• IRREGULAR ADJECTIVES– Good– Bad– Far
SHORT ADJECTIVES
• We add –ER to short adjectives– If it ends in „-e“, we add „-r“• Wide wideR• Nice niceR• Large largeR• Late lateR
SHORT ADJECTIVES
• We add –ER to short adjectives– If it ends in a short vowel + single consonant, we
double the consonant and add „-er“• Hot hotTER• Big bigGER• Wet wetTER
SHORT ADJECTIVES
• We add –ER to short adjectives– If it ends in „-y“, we change it into „-i“ and add „-er“• Friendly frendlIER• Happy happIER• Early earlIER• Easy easIER

LONG ADJECTIVES
• We put the word „more“ before the adjective• The adjective remains unchanged

IRREGULAR ADJECTIVES
