3. FYRMYIN - Boasts solid form over fences and recently made a winning comeback over hurdles. Will still be fresh and looks a serious player

4. BIG BOY - Overcame a brace of falls to win with style over course and distance two weeks ago. Small chance of repeating but minor place more likely

5. AS DE MARCIGNY - Occasionally useful over fences but is up against better here and will need to find more

6. JUPITER - Less effective over fences earlier in the season but has pleased over hurdles of late and timing ideal to get back to more competitive ways

7. ACCROCHETOI - Has been racing rather modestly of late and is a long way off the mark. Others preferred

8. ARC DE CRISTAL - Consistently gives his best but seldom breaks into the first three. Likes the conditions however and should not be ruled out

Summary Emmanuel Clayeux appears to have this wrapped up. He saddles recent comeback winner (3) FYRMYIN who has nothing to prove in this category, and the consistently rewarding (1) BEYROUTH who comes off a respectable Cluny victory. (6) JUPITER is back on form and returns to fences with legitimate aspirations, although (4) BIG BOY ran particularly well here recently and must be afforded respect.

Race 2 1. SPAIN BOWL - Consistently effective although last outing can be forgotten. Runs over his favourite trip and should play a leading role

2. FILS PRODIGUE - Only once out of the first three to date. Dead-heated for third in a Listed over track and trip five days ago and legitimately bids to co closer

3. MILLFIELD - Decent class of horse. Finished 5th in last year's Gr.1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud but has shown little since. Fresh from a break and at a less exalted level he could pull this off

4. MACELLO - Yet to make the required impression at this level of competition and not about to this time either

5. GLOS - Just twice made the first three from six starts and will have her work cut out

6. MOVING - Colt that has shown some promise and looks capable of running into the frame

7. APRILANA - Raced very modestly on debut and despite the allowance she appears to have nothing to offer

Summary (3) MILLFIELD is justifiably well-regarded and the drop in class gives him every chance of returning to the winners' circle. He can expect some resistance from the progressive and consistent (1) SPAIN BOWL, together with smart miler (2) FILS PRODIGUE. Pascal Bary's (6) MOVING is 2kg better off and looks good enough to make a decent impact here.

Race 3 1. SOUFFLENHEIM - Fine sort from the Macaire yard. Has been on the cusp on all three outings and looks to have the ideal opportunity to open his account

2. LUCKY NET LOVE - Put in a fine effort on his only start here then returned four months later and acquitted himself well at Strasbourg. Will come on for the run and can go close

3. MISTER NOUR - Made his debut at enghien two weeks ago and was well trounced. Faces a stiff test once again

4. DIVINETTI - Well thought of at home and made debut at Auteuil at Listed level. Fell at the first which inspires little confidence for his second start

5. PASIFAE - Has made progress in recent months and if she maintains this run a place in the first three is hers for the taking

6. SAINT EMPEREUR - Has shown some promise. Well beaten however over course and distance earlier in the month and he will have to show improvement

7. FABULOUS SPIRIT - Trounced on his only outing over hurdles and will again have his work cut out

8. GAELICK KAP - Modest so far from three and although bottom weight with the allowance still has little to offer

Summary (1) SOUFFLENHEIM showed a lot of ability earlier in the year and will be fresh for his comeback and not easy to beat. He will have to face the promising (2) LUCKY NET LOVE who seems to have a decent career ahead of him. (5) PASIFAE has shown improvement in recent months and will be one to watch but she should have little to fear from (6) SAINT EMPEREUR who looks the best of the rest.

Race 4 1. HARCOURT STREET - Very hard to knock this colt on what he has shown so far. Fresh and ready to step up to a mile and should impose once again

2. BLOOKHEAD - Pleasing winner on debut early August. Steps up in class and should acquit himself well

3. AUFSTEIGER - A promising colt that made a fine impression at Saint-Cloud recently and a bigger performance anticipated this time

4. NUMERATION - Unbeaten from two to date and latest effort particularly courageous. Steps up to a mile but place prospect at best

5. MALAYA - Filly that has climbed the class ladder with ease and should have a part to play here

6. KAMBURA - Consistently in the thick of things but is up against better here and will need to show more

7. BLUE HILLS - Has done everything asked of her so far but faces a tough ask in this contest and others preferred

8. COSMIQUE - Making decent progress. Recent fourth in a Listed at Craon and on that performance can make the frame here

Summary Andre Fabre's (1) HARCOURT STREET has been very impressive so far and is not easy to fault. The main opposition should come from (3) AUFSTEIGER whose latest run was notably eye-catching. (8) COSMIQUE went from Class G to fourth in a Listed and looks a solid player, while (2) BLOOKHEAD makes an ambitious step up but could nonetheless sneak his way into the frame.

Race 5 1. NOTRE SAGE - Well-regarded at home but has failed to make the grade in better company and is sufficiently well-placed to challenge for the win

2. HELLO TRAOU LAND - Solid sort with a fine record in this category. Attempts the trip for the first time but eminently capable of carrying this off

3. DECALE - Twice a winner from four to date although considering the opposition a place is as good as it will get

4. HIGHGATE - Has proved herself more than once in the claiming division and despite recent hiccup should make amends and put in another big effort

5. ETTA - Unplaced three from last four and will have to show more to generate any support

6. LADY FONG - Showed some form over the summer but has made the frame just once from last four and will not have the confidence of many

7. BUBBLE BATH - Previously with a small trainer in England. Makes his French debut with limited prospects

8. ZANZARI - Useful sort but yet to shine in better company. From a good home and will be worth monitoring

9. ROYALE GIRL - Has looked rather modest on both starts so far and appears to have her work cut out

Summary (2) HELLO TRAOU LAND is the most accomplished horse in the field and given her aptitude for claimers she looks the one to beat. That said, (4) HIGHGATE has also made her mark and should prove the principal challenger. (1) NOTRE SAGE got her career off to a fine start but has shown little since, however she nonetheless has a decent chance here of returning to more competitive ways. (8) ZANZARI has yet to make much of an impact but at this level he should be good enough to claim a place.

Race 6 1. MATA UTU - Decent sort but has not found it easy of late. Drops in category although top weight does nothing to improve his prospects

3. EZPELETAKO - Has never been in better shape. A place behind La Houssay here a fortnight back. Same weight differential and should again play an important role

4. KUTINA - Gives a good account of herself for the most part and finished well last time out. Legitimate chance of opening her account

5. PHOIBE - Has looked somewhat modest since returning from her winter break and appears to have a lot to find

6. KING DAVID - Has dropped 2.5kg on last three runs. Steps back up in trip and should not be overlooked

7. SNOW AND ICE - Respectable handicapper but has been below par on last two and needs to confirm

8. BIBIONE - Useful sort over this trip but has just had one start back and may need the run

9. WHISPERING HERO - Failed to shine on fibresand last time out but otherwise a handy sort and has chance of finishing in first five

10. KIEFFER DES AIGLES - Consistently gives a good account at this level. Has a liking for these conditions and is expected to figure prominently, especially with the 2.5kg allowance

11. AEDICULA - Erratic but has shown encouraging signs of late and not expected to be far off the pace

12. KIRIKKALE - Appears to have found his calling in the claiming category but could still get a small look-in here

13. MIHARO - Mixes the good with the less good but is not without merit. That said he will need to raise his game

Summary The consistent (2) LA HOUSSAY beat (3) EZPELETAKO over a mile here earlier this month and they take each other on once more with the former again appearing to have the edge. (4) KUTINA showed good aptitude for handicaps last time out and will be no pushover, although with the extra allowance the dependable (10) KIEFFER DES AIGLES could make his presence felt.

3. DURANO - Has hardly set a foot wrong all season. Won courageously at Vittel last time and a similar effort would see him finish in the mix

4. TEXAS SPIRIT - Twice a winner from last three including on comeback at La Soie. Is fresh and will be worth watching

5. LYS DES AIGLES - Course winner over a mile two weeks ago and will not be inconvenienced by the step up in trip. Received 1.5kg for the win but competitively well-in nonetheless

6. SQUARE SET - Won his last two conditions events this month but faces a different challenge this time and does not look up to the task

7. CESARO - Has shown a lot during the year. Appreciates the distance and with the 2kg allowance his prospects have substantially improved

8. MY BELLA - Form heading in the wrong direction and will have to confirm before attracting more support

9. TRULLY ME - Always gives her best and is seldom far from the action. Given her latest results she looks a serious challenger for the win

10. MYSTERIEUX - Useful character in this class of race. Will find this venue more to his liking than Vichy and appears to have a decent hand to play

11. CANTABRICO - Often bites off more than he can chew. Latest result not indicative of the decent run and off bottom weight can make the frame

Summary (5) LYS DES AIGLES was a pleasant winner over shorter here two weeks ago and given her condition should impose. Opposition can be expected from the on-form (9) TRULLY ME who has proved her aptitude for the track, and (2) DRY MARTINY who has a legitimate shot at the hat-trick. (11) CANTABRICO is never an easy one to read but he is useful when 'in the zone' and should not be underestimated off bottom weight.
