Computerised Vocational Education Training (C-VET) at Amrita Vidyalayam Schools Page No. 1 Computerised Vocational Education at Amrita Vidyalayam Schools One of the limitation of Indian education system is that it does not give due importance to vocational educa- tion. As a result there is a mismatch between the skilled manpower required and skilled manpower available. Every year, various colleges turn out millions of grad- uates who do not have the specific skills sets required by the market. This has resulted in the huge shortage of skilled workers. To rectify this situation, Vocational program need to be promoted in a big way. Given the urgent need for accessible and standardized vocation- al education in India, AMMACHI Labs in collaboration with Amrita Vidyalayam schools provides an innovative solution through MYSANGHAM portal. MySangham is an online portal created by AMMACHI Labs that aims at making skill based education and employment ac- cessible to low income rural communities. Through computerized vocational education training, MySangham leverages technology to deliver education to the masses in India and elsewhere. Individuals using the portal become empowered Personally and Socially with knowledge and the opportunity to earn a livelihood in a field of their choice. Training Objectives: Promote Personal, Social and Economic empowerment through Computerized Vocational Education and Life Enrichment Education among students. Sub-Objectives: 1. To build-up a strong attitude among students towards work and Life. 2. To provide an option for those intending to pursue higher education. 3. To develop good attitude, knowledge and skills for entrepreneurship and self employment. 4. To give opportunities for professional growth and career improvement. 5. To build- up the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions with respect to individual, family - and community. 6. To give awareness on social issues and promote participation in community activities. We deployed Vocational training at Amrita vidyalayam Schools during August - September, 2015 and we con- ducted pilot deployments at 4 schools in Kerala.Vocational Training Provided by AMMACHI LABS is a com- bination of CVET (Computerized Vocational Education and Training) which includes both Technical and Non technical courses and LEE (Life Enrichment Education). Large Group Discussion

Direct students to sit at their assigned computers and work on the assigned CVET lesson as per the daily plan.

Direct students to sit at their assigned computers and work on the assigned LEE lesson.

Divide the large group into smaller groups of 3 to 5 people per group. Once in the small group, direct the stu-dents to elect one group leader/reporter. The role of the leader/reporter is to make sure everyone participates in the discussion and then is responsible for reporting the small group’s ideas back to the larger group.This role should change every time small groups are formed, so that all students gain practice in leadership and communication skills.

Arrange students in a large circle. Make sure that all students are included in the circle. Ask the students to comment on the discussion questions. Call on the group reporters on to share the thoughts of the small groups.

• Identifying the main components of a two wheeler(Me-chanical & Electrical)

• Detailed session on the electrical components and their functions using PPTs and Videos(Dynamo,Battery,indi-cators,Head lamp, tail lamp,Self start etc)
