    NOTICE: Before setting up the remote broadcasting system, conrm that allequipment is in the black bag. This bag is located in the technical directorsofce (refer to page 13 for specic location). Please plan accordingly to ensurethe technical director will be in his or her ofce when you pick the system up.

    Diagrams

    REMOTE BROADCAST FRONT VIEW

    1. Display Screen. This where all information is displayed. It is touch sensitive. Content is

    navigated similarly to a computer browser.2. Stylus. This tool acts as a pen for scrolling, selecting and navigating the touch screen.3. Backlight Key. This controls the brightness of the display light. Press and hold thisb button for one second to cause the backlight to dim after 10 seconds of non-use.4. Directional Cursor. This is an alternative for the touch screen. The outer areas navigatet the screen, while the center button selects and enters commands.5. Power Button. This turns on and off the system.6. F1 and F2 Keys. The F1 button is an alternative button for selecting the top menu baro on the on the display screen. The F2 button is a user-programmed button. For thes sake of this manual, you will not use these buttons.7. Battery.This is the power source for the machine. Battery life levels can be checked int the top right-hand corner of the display screen.

    MIXER FRONT VIEW

    1. IEC Power Outlet. Jack for power source.2. Power Switch. This turns on and off the system.3. XLR Output. This is where you connect the mixer to the remote broadcast system.

    1.XLR Output. This is where the mixer connects with the remote broadcast system.2. Mixer Levels. These determine output. They should be turned up to max at all times.3. Stereo Input. This is where the headphones or splitter are plugged.

    Set Up Instructions

    CONNECTING EVERYTHING TOGETHER

    1. Insert the mixer board power cord (f.) into the mixer board power input andan electrical outlet.

    2. Insert the Comrex 5-Pin DIN cord (j.) into the Comrex power outlet and anelectrical outlet.

    3.Plug XLR cable (c.) into XLR output on the remote broadcast system and theupper left mic output on the mixer.

    4. Select Line on the Mic/Line Switch.

    5. Set the Mono In Level Control to 50%. Thislooks like the graphic to the left.

    7. Plug the wireless antenna (k.) into the wireless antennea port at the top lefthand side of the remote broadcast system.

    8. Plug the stereo splitter (h.) into the stereo input on the mixer board.

    8. Plug the XLR plug on the rst set of headphones into microphone inputchannel 1. Plug the second set of headphones into channel 2.

    9. Plug each headphone (a.) into a seperate stereo input on the stereo splitter

    (h.).

    6. Go to the WIFI setting tab.

    8. Select Web Browser.

    9. Select the keyboard tool. This will openup a keyboard as shown in the graphic tothe right.

    10. Select the browser.

    11. Using the keyboard , type www.uwp.eduinto the browser, then select enter on thekeyboard.

    NOTE: The system may have disconnected fromthe UWP server. If so, log on with UWP usernameas you would if you were on any UWP computer.

    7. Select the Re-scan until you see thewireless network dropdown box.

    NOTE: If you do not see the drop down box,repeat this step until you see the dropdownbow. Sometimes the Re-scan takes

    several attempts to process.

    12. Once onto the UWP webpage, select theRemotes tab. This will open a drop down

    brx as shown in the graphic to the right.

    13. Select Manage Connections.

    14. Select WIPZ Studio A.

    15. Select the green Connect button.

    16. If the connection is successful, thescreen should look like the graphic at right.

    NOTE: If the connection has failed, retrysteps 14 & 15. If those fail, contact eitherthe station manager or the technicaldirector.

    17. Once step 15 completed, contact amember in the studio (refer to page 12 forstation phone number), and continue tothe Studio Set Up section on page 10.

    STUDIO SET UP

    NOTE: The members using and setting up the remote broadcast system shouldcontact the member setting up the studio section at least 24 hours ahead of thebroadcast.

    NOTE: The member supervising the studio SHOULD NOT leave the statio at anypoint during the broadcast.

    1.Using the left computer, log onusing your UWP username and

    password.

    2. Open Internet Explorer.

    2. Type, comrex.wipz.uwp.edu into the browser, and click enter.

    3.This will then bring up thename and password page asshown in the graphic to the right.

    The NAME is: WIPZ

    The PASSWORD is: comrex

    4. Once the page opens, on the connections tab, you should see:00.01:c0:0b:9f:05.

    5. Select the Audio Metering tab.

    6. Fill in the check boxes for analog,digital, status bar, and wave form asshown in the graphic to the right.

    NOTE: If the levels in step 7 do not move, the Local Output level on the remotebroadcast system needs to be turned up. Turn up the the Local Output level untilthe levels on the board move.

    NOTE: If for some reason static comes through the broadcast, contact themembers on site and notify them that their volume is too loud. They will needto turn down the Local Output levels until the static is gone.

    7. Once the check boxes are checked, youshould see the levels bouncing on theboard.
