ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2013 - February 11-12

Dear Attendees,

As we prepare to welcome you to ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2013. Technological change surroundingidentities continues to fuel the digitalizationwave. The widespread use of mobile devices, the expanding reach of broadband networks and he vast amounts of data being exchanged and communicated in every industry, all contribute to altering the way information is shared leveraging on identities.

We see new delivery models emerging with regard to services to citizens, connecting them seamlessly with their governments via their e-ID. Similarly, in supply chains goods are reduced to a series of identifying data complexes providing added value to logistics providers. This presents a series of challenges and, in some cases threats, to those whose responsibility is to manage, control and protect globally mobile people and goods. At ID WORLD Abu Dhabi we connect the dots in all these respects.

The ID Revolution also sees borders become essentially digital, rather thanphysical, boundaries, thus creating an ‘ID divide’. A person or asset, beingtracked, identified and authenticated, travels in or out of a country more andmore on the basis of the digital information, which pertains to him, her or it.Disruptive identification technologies are also playing a major role in forensic science, which is expanding beyond criminalistics to the wider securityneeds of the modern era.

All this calls for governments, private enterprises and other organizations to embrace the change and realize the significant global economic value that the digitization wave can bring, stepping up their productivity, communications and services. At ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2103, we explore how transformation of effort in this way can achieve new business growth in the case of commercial enterprise and maximum social inclusion in the case of public authorities and governments.
