In high school, Serres got involved with Youth Entrepreneurs and

completed internships with GM, Microsoft, and the mayor of Independence,

Missouri. Then he started his own custom sock company and landed a

summer 2018 internship with the Obama Foundation. That internship was

the perfect opportunity to combine his areas of greatest interest: marketing,

social media, government, and civic engagement.

Serres was selected to work on the Community Leadership Corps, a six-

month program that trains 18–25 year olds to be civic leaders. “Making an

impact on people my age who want to make their communities stronger was

the highlight of my summer,” says Serres.

Serres spends his days on campus leading @ALASMU and never stops

thinking about the next opportunity to be creative and use his energy to help

make the world a better place.
