+HYMN 487 “These Treasured Children” PUER NOBIS NASCITUR

+AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

OFFERING OFFERTORY ANTHEM “Lord, For Thy Tender Mercy’s Sake” -Richard Farrant Lord, for thy tender mercy's sake, lay not our sins to our charge, but forgive that is past, and give us grace to amend our sinful lives. To decline from sin and incline to virtue, that we may walk in a perfect heart before thee now and ever more. Amen.

CALL TO CONFESSION If we say that we have no sin, We deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just Will forgive us our sins And cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith, Let us confess our sin to God...

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, we confess that we sin against you and our neighbor in countless ways. We set a table for ourselves and yet exclude those in need. We have our fill and forget that so many go without. Have mercy, we pray, and help us make room for others; For every brother and every sister in every corner of your world. And hear us now, Gracious God, as we cast our cares upon you Trusting always in your power to heal…

SILENT PRAYER KYRIE MERBECKE Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON Friends, hear this good news! The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. As far as east is from west, So far has he removed our transgressions from us. Let us all believe this good news! In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

+GLORIA PATRI (581) GREATOREX Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen, Amen.

PASSING OF THE PEACE The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all! And also with you!

TIME WITH THE YOUNG CHURCH [Three year olds through second graders are invited to come forward, place their offering in the plate and have prayer with the minister before leaving with their teachers for Children’s Worship. Ages 3 - K meet in Room 208; Grades 1 & 2 meet in Room 311.]

+DOXOLOGY (606) OLD HUNDREDTH Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

+PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
