• The name Viking means a pirate raid in the Old Norse language.
• Fenrir Grayback, the werewolf in the Harry Potter books, was named after a ferocious giant wolf from ancient Viking mythology.
• Ever wondered where the word berserk comes from? Berserkers was the name of some terrifying Viking warriors who wore bear or wolf skins and howled in battle like wild animals!

The Vikings were not full time soldiers they were actually full time fishermen and farmers. They would care for the family and protect them.

• Vikings built ships called ‘drakar’ or dragon ships. These ships were made for war. They were very fast and they went through the water like a knife.

• Vikings had to make or buy their weapons. Poor soldiers carried knives and spears. Wealthy Vikings had metal helmets and tunics, and fine, sharp swords. They carried a round shield that was made of wood that was covered in leather .

• This story begins in 793 the Vikings are preparing for their first raid to Britain. When Steve asked Eric the Red if he could come on his voyage to Britain.

On the Way!• When they were
almost there they planed there attack on a monastery. They told the Story about the Legend of Fenrir Grayback! But all the CREW WERE SCARED! Apart from Steve.
Arriving
• As they arrived the crew searched and they found Fenrir Grayback on the top of the hill. Suddenly he lept down and pounced on everyone but Steve! Steve had to kill him somehow.
