Objective
To give every student the most appropriate subject combination so that she can develop to the best of her ability, interests and potential.
Allocation Criteria
1 Overall Results in Sec 2 Exams
(Sec 2 Geography, History weightings differ due to GI, HI components)
2 Performance in relevant Sec 2 subjects (more information can be found in booklet)

The Streaming Process
1. All students (Express and Normal (A) streams) are ranked by their overall performance across subjects.
2. The streaming of a student to a particular class is also guided by her choice and the overall performance in the subjects. (eg. EL, Math, Sc, Lit, Geog, Hist)
3. For classes with Pure Sciences & Additional Math, students must satisfy the criterion of the subject.
4. Allocation of student to a subject combination is done based on merit and also subjected to availability of school resources.

Important Information
1. Maximum: 9 sub. for ‘O’ levels / 7 sub. for ‘N’ levels
2. Minimum: 6 sub. for ‘O’ levels / 5 sub. for ‘N’ levels
3. Elective subjects (eg. Music, 3rd language may be offered subject to approval from MOE)
4. Students allocated into a particular class must study all the subjects in Sec 3
5. Permission to drop a subject will only be given at the end of Sec 3
6. Students in AEP will continue
7. Drama (DEP) as an elective subject:
• Consistently good results in Sec 1 & 2
• Attend an audition where she will be assessed on her ability to devise a character monologue
• 2 papers at ‘O’ level, written and performance

• Students must attain an overall percentage of 70 %
• Good performances in core subjects EL, E-Maths, Science, Humanities

• Obtain Grade 5 or better in EL and 2 other subjects
