ABES Engineering College

We have recently added another feature in our college and

that is an Olympic size swimming pool. I am elated to

announce that, our college is the only college in our vicinity

of Delhi/NCR having this special feature of swimming pool.

Now I want to take an opportunity to introduce you all to the

four pillars of ABES Engineering College that are playing an

important role in holistic development of students towards

their future.

· Academics

· Applied Research

· Skill Building

· Career Planning

Academics is always treated the base of any institution as it

brings all the students on common platform. The growth and

success of students and institutions are directly

proportionate to the quality of academics. Our college is

focusing on the quality of academics and for the same an

initiative has been taken by us in a form of Centre of

Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL).

Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL)CETL (Centre of Excellence for teaching and learning) has

been established for enhancing the skills of delivery and

effective learning. The center is equipped with the latest

technology, learning tools and supporting infrastructure, a

committed team of subject matter experts adds strength to

the center.

CETL has started a YouTube channel to showcase the e

content developed by faculty members. 220 video tutorials

have been uploaded so far and the counting is still on. I am

happy to report that more than 1400 people have

subscribed to this channel and are taking benefits.

YouTube Link

IgZS2Uw)

Another great initiative has been taken by CETL in a form of

faculty development handbook which consists of a primer

and all the essential information needed by present day

engineering educator. It is a tool which is being used for the

professional development of faculty members.

Faculty Certification: Twenty faculty members have

participated in IIEECP certification programme phase-I and

at present seven faculty members have completed Phase-II

IIEECP certification programme offered by IUCEE .

Total 5 faculty members are certified in “Teaching learning

methodologies” by IUCEE after completing phase III.

Focus area and objective of CETL are as followed:

Applied Research in ABES Engineering College refers to the

liberty given to the students and faculty members to

transform their dreams into reality. Applied research is used

here to find solutions to everyday problems, Entrepreneurial

challenges, and develop innovative technologies. We have

started a centre by the name of Centre for Applied Research

and Entrepreneurship (CARE).

Centre for Applied Research and Entrepreneurship (CARE)CARE works as a driving force among students and innovation

is the fuel. This department works beyond boundaries and

give wings to those students who are aspiring their career in

Research and Entrepreneurship. CARE has works with a

mission to promote Research and Entrepreneurship among

students. I am proud to share that with in the span of 4 years

CARE has nurtured many ideas of students and making them

capable to execute them further. Under the aegis of CARE,

students won number of prizes in national/international

competitions like SAE Efficycle, ROBOCON and Australian

UAV Medical Express Challenge etc.

Academics

Applied Research

Page 8: Convocation February 18th, 2018

I am proud to share that with in the span of 3 years CARE has

nurtured many ideas of students and making them capable

to execute it further. Few of the initiatives are mentioned

below:

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, U.P. Lucknow, is

known for its unique approach and that is to uplift the skills

of each student while pursuing any technical program. ABES

Engineering College is also standing alongside the university

to promote the same approach among students. I am

delighted to share that in the same field, our college has

created a department who is fulfilling the same mission and

that department is Centre for Building Skills and

Employability (CBSE)

Centre for Building Skills and Employability (CBSE)CBSE is working on Industry-Institute Interaction and

preparing the manpower of world class in the field of science

and technology by inculcating the various skills required by

the industry. Though availability of manpower is abundant in

India, well equipped manpower with employability skills is

the need of the hour. There is a need to create avenues for a

close academia and industry interaction through all the

phases of technology development, starting from

conceptualizing to commercialization.

This vision can only be achieved well by regular better

interaction between technical institutions and industry. The

rise of a global knowledge economy has intensified the need

for strategic partnerships. The Institutes are imparting the

basic knowledge and skill, but the Industry-Institute

Interaction will enable to undertake research by staff and

students relevant to the industry. CBSE allows students to

peep into the real world before entering into it and making

the transition smooth for students and industry.

Towards this initiative, please allow me to mention a few of our steps:

· CBSE is working as a bridge between industry and

students in terms of learning and development and for

the same it collaborates with industry to know the latest

trends in technologies. It pursues the industry to open

their labs in campus for students and provide them

training as per their requirement. Since 2012 under CBSE

more than 10 COEs have started working and enhancing

students' skills for better future.

1. Last year 2017 we have established our latest Center of

Excellence in Automobile

2. In 2016 the Texas Instruments Embedded System Lab

emerged in our campus
