Ronald McDonald House Akron Impact No child should face a hospital alone. Since 1985, Ronald McDonald House Akron has helped

thousands of families stay close to their sick children undergoing treatment at Akron Children’s

Hospital. We provide a comfortable home away from home, surrounded by supportive parents and

staff during days, weeks or months of treatment.

We offer all the comforts of home.

Ronald McDonald House Akron allows parents to

focus on their child without worrying about their

next meal or where they’ll lay their head. Families

sleep better so they’re able to be more actively

involved in their child’s care.

Ronald McDonald House Akron

services are provided with a minimal

request of $20 per night. The cost to

provide our services is $90 per night.

We will never turn a family away

due to inability to pay. Roughly a

quarter of families are able to cover

this donation. We look to the

community to maintain the services

we provide, and 98% of our funding

comes from local donors like you.

demand, we opened our doors to a

new 42-room expansion in April

2018, offering:

A Red Tie Affair is Ronald McDonald House

Akron’s signature fundraising event. The

cocktail-style event welcomes guests to mix-

and-mingle, while enjoying an array of

whimsically prepared hors d’oeuvres stations

and open bar. As kids are the heart of our

mission, we encourage our guests be kids at

heart at A Red Tie Affair! Guests arrive dressed

to impress in creative red ties and shoes, ready

to take part in games located throughout the

event space, while trying their luck at silent

and live auctions.
