The Liturgy of the Day
Saint Paul today gives us the
focus for our prayer when he says
that the God who began a good
work in us will continue to
complete it until the day of Christ
Jesus. As we hear in the other
readings today of the coming of
the Lord into the deserts of our
lives, let us bear in mind that we
too can bear the presence of the
Lord into the lives of those around
us, carrying on the good work that
God has begun in us.
nuestro derredor esa misericordia. El
resto del mundo espera la venida del
Señor, aunque no lo sepan. ¿Qué
estamos haciendo para mostrarles la
presencia del Señor?

Question of the Week?
As the Jubilee Year of Mercy begins,
what twists and turns do I need to let
God untangle in my life? What rough
edges smooth out? What mountainous of
pride bring low? What valleys of
indifference and neglect fill with mercy
for others?

Jubilee Year of Mercy Tuesday, December 8th
The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy called for by
Pope Francis begins with the opening of the Holy Door
at Saint Peter’s Basilica, Rome this December 8th.
Some Resources are:
1) The “Introduction to the Year of Mercy” contains,
among other things, Pope Francis’ Bull of Indiction
and official prayer for the Year of Mercy.
2) The “Year of Mercy Resources for the Holy Door”
offers a theological reflection and historical description
of the Holy Door so that you may encourage the
faithful in your communities to frequent the churches,
chapels, and shrines Bishop Guglielmone has
designated throughout the Diocese to have a Holy
Door. The resource also provides sample rituals for
the creation and sealing of the Holy Door as well
rituals for their opening and closing should the pastors
and rectors of said churches, chapels and shrines find
them helpful.
3) The “Year of Mercy Resources for Advent-Christmas”
provides, among other things, suggested resources for
Advent Penance Services in light of the Extraordinary
Jubilee.www.sccatholic.org/divine-worship-sacraments
