All 2019 Year 5, 7, 9 & 10 should have their laptop leasing program information sheets for next year. There are a couple of things that I would like to highlight for the corresponding parents and carers; 1. Technology is a crucial part of your childs education and ensures skill development for current education requirements and future employability. 2. You must purchase through the online shop https://shop.corryong.vic.edu.au and only through your childs 2019 year group. You will need their student number. Feeding schools must have their children enrolled. 3. 2019 Year 5 and Year 7 only have the option of the Dell 3190, whilst Year 9 & 10 have the option of the two devices; 3190 or the 3380. Devices purchased outside of this program can not have the education suite put on them therefore a bring your own deviceis not possible. These computers are equipped with specifications needed to run the department education suite. 4. Payments can be made either in one lump sum or quarterly payments of which the total of the device must be paid within the first 12 months via credit or visa debit card through the online shop website listed above. 5. After the leasing period is over (3 or 4 years depending on year level—listed in information) the laptop will returned to the factory settings. In the past a small financial fee has been exchanged for the laptop. If your child leaves earlier than the duration of the lease agreement, this can be discussed with the principal on a case-by-case basis. 6. You must enter all details by the 7th December. Please see information sheets for all further details. 7. If there are any concerns, please contact the College Principal. Healthy Eating—supporting healthy brains. Remember, processed and most packaged foods come with a high sugar content. Therefore, children have a quick high sugar boost, only to have a low afterwards. This effects concentration, focus and ability to regulate emotions which can result in behaviour concerns. There is an abundance of great ideas online, have a look. You ll be surprised how easy and affordable the ideas are. 2019 Staff Changes Next year we have a few changes in our staff. Please see below for details: We wish all the best to our staff heading on adventures over 2019 during their 12 months leave: Georgia Dally, Blaire Plowman and Sue Scott. We will sadly farewell some of our staff who have been such a huge asset to the college: Helen Marshall for her long standing dedication to Hospitality and the many other contributions made to the college. Janette Rixon for her valued office management and dedication towards school improvement, with over 20 years of service. Leonie Wilson for her vigilant assistance in supporting the Home Economics and Hospitality area. Nat Lebner for her few years across the college. We wish her well at Myrtleford P-12 and also congratulate her on her soon to be wedding. At the staff Christmas gathering we will be acknowledging their dedicated service and legacy to the students and college. Thank you to Brigitte Krstic for her 12 months in the arts. She will be returning to home base school. We will also be thanking the following staff for their care of, and commitment to our students. Chris Allen, Wendy Hodgkin, Nell McGee, Ashleigh Nicholas. The following appointments have been made for 2019: Vicky Leitch (Year 2), Kelly Jarvis (Year 5/6), Emily Bowman (Year 5/6), Sarah Harris (Junior Art and Library), Catherine McKenzie (Junior and Secondary Arts). We welcome back Sophie Pattison and Tom McKimmie from their travel adventures and look forward to hearing of their great adventures. Further information about our new staff will follow. Please welcome the new staff into our great community. Transition Program a Success. This years transition program has been a great success. The 2019 Foundation students have attended big schoolweekly and there has been nothing but great smiles and laughter. The 2019 Year 7 students from the feeder schools have made new friends and appear comfortable in their new surroundings. The whole school transition commenced today. Further news about this next week. Wishing you all a great week ahead. Fran Heath - College Principal
