What we will do
Our excursion begins when we leave the port of Mahé on board a ferry that takes us on the hour-long crossing to the island of
Praslin.
On our arrival, we explore this magical location, discovering the island's exotic beaches with their crystal-clear water, palm
trees and lush forests: it's no surprise that the first explorers dubbed it the garden of Eden.
We then head for the hotel, located in the western part of the island, and having checked in and familiarised ourselves with
our surroundings we enjoy an afternoon of relaxation.
Our destinations are two of the most famous beach clubs on the island: the magnificent white sandy beaches of the Côte D'Or
and the fabulous Anse Lazio, on the most northern point of the island. Anse Lazio in particular is often considered to be one of
the most beautiful beaches in the world, and it's the ideal place to swim or simply spend a dreamy afternoon.
We then return to the comfort of our rooms and in the evening we can enjoy the delicious flavours of the local cuisine.
The next morning we'll be awakened by birdsong and the gentle sound of the waves caressing the beach. To get the day off to
a good start, we'll have breakfast at the Fond Ferdinand nature park.
This reserves boasts a large quantity of coco de mer (sea coconut) palms and rich biodiversity. A large number of species in
the park are at risk of extinction, such as the extremely rare Seychelles black parrot which finds fruit in abundance to feed on
in this habitat.
In the mid-afternoon we catch the local ferry for Mahé and return to the ship.
Please Note: Spaces are limited, so please reserve early. Don't forget a swimsuit,
sunglasses, towel and sunscreen. The means of transportation may varyand are of local standard; some may not have air
conditioning.?

What we will do
We reach the local airport for a thrilling excursion by air over the island of Mahé to discover its most beautiful views as well as
its most hidden recesses.
The pilot selects an itinerary depending on weather conditions. There is either a northern or a southern route, but both are
spectacular.
The northern itinerary will take us over the Sainte Anne Marine National Park, a true temple for flora and fauna that also
includes an archipelago with magnificent heavenly islands: Ile au Cerf, Ronde, Moyenne and Longue.
Our aircraft continues towards Eden Island, a private artificial island covering over 40 hectares and connected to Mahé via a
bridge, and over Victoria, the small capital of the archipelago. We then head back to the airport as we continue to admire
amazing stretches of coast and hidden inlets.

Description
A boat tour exploring two enchanting islands, where unspoilt nature prevails over the rule of man: underwater landscapes of rare
beauty, luxuriant forests and curious animals, and crystal-clear waters just begging you to take a dip. A delicious restaurant lunch is
the icing on the cake for this perfect day.
What we will see
Nosy Tanikely
Marine Reserve
Trip to the lighthouse and swimming in the sea
Nosy Komba
Lemur park
Restaurant lunch
Relaxing on the beach
What we will do
We board our direct boat to the island of Nosy Tanikely, meaning small island in the local language.
Nosy Tanikely is a small atoll to the south of Nosy Be, home to a Marine Reserve, a true tropical water paradise which, even at
a depth of just a few metres, presents an ocean floor of exceptional beauty, rich in coral and sea fans, multicoloured fish and
starfish of various shapes and sizes.
In the company of our guide, we arrive on foot at the lighthouse that enjoys an enchanting view of the bay below and, looking
towards the forest, we'll try to spot the fruit bats, also known as flying foxes, that are practically the only inhabitants of the
island.
We'll then stop at the beach for a swim in the unspoilt ecosystem of Nosy Tanikely and, with a bit of luck, we can encounter
the sea turtles that are quite common in the area.
We return to the boat and travel to Nosy Komba, where we find a small village with an evocative market of hand-made items.
Having crossed the village, it's a pleasant walk to the lemur park*. These graceful animals are a very rare species of primate,
present in the wild only in Madagascar and the Comoros Islands. In the park we'll have the opportunity to admire some captive
examples of the chameleons, boa constrictors and tortoises that populate the island.
Next, a delicious fish-based lunch awaits us, which we will enjoy seated comfortably on the terrace of a restaurant facing the
sea.
In the afternoon there's still time for a refreshing swim or to relax on the beach before returning to the ship.

What we will do
We cross the island's capital, Hell Ville, by minivan to admire a series of tropical panoramas with the lush green of the sugar
cane fields and the dazzling white of the coral beaches.
We'll pass by the village of Dzamandzar, the island's second largest town famous for its former rum distillery, once the heart of
Nosy Be's economy.
We then continue on to Chanty Beach where we board a boat to cross a stretch of sea that separates Nosy Be from the
smaller island of Nosy Sakatia.
On board small motorboats we begin our fascinating journey to discover the local customs and traditions.
Our first stop is at the large beach of Ampasindava*, to the north of the island of Sakatia, where we can relax on the long
white shores and enjoy the crystal-clear water.
Returning to our boats, we briefly sail inshore to arrive at the village of Antanambe.
Although it is a small community of traditional huts, this village encapsulates all the history and customs of the Sakalava, one
of the most common Malagasy ethnic groups in Madagascar. Here we will learn how the Malagasy build their homes, discover
their cuisine and see their simple yet precious handicrafts.
While returning to the boat's mooring place, we can admire a series of charming little bays where the vegetation seems to
tumble straight into the sea.
We'll stop at the beach for a refreshing swim and snorkelling, allowing us to admire underwater panoramas of rare beauty,
with coral sea beds and brightly coloured fish.
Another short boat ride takes us to our final destination: the simple yet enchanting Sakatia Passions resort to relax, savour the
deliciously fragrant local cuisine and let our hair down with some dancing.

What we will do
Having taken the ship's tender to the dock of Nosy Be, we take a short trip on small local boats to board a comfortable
catamaran, heading straight for the archipelago to the south of Nosy Be.
On our hour-long trip on the spacious boat, we'll navigate around Nosy Vorona, a tiny remote island which, with a surface area
of just a few hundred square metres, is home to a single, enchanting house and a small lighthouse.
After sailing around the island, we'll continue to the enchanted atoll of Petit Iranja, a crescent of white coral sand and black
volcanic rock that rises out of the crystal-clear waters at low tide.
We stop here for a relaxing visit to stroll along the beach, plunge into the crystal-clear water for a relaxing swim, discover the
rich coral reef and be inspired to take beautiful photos to immortalise this wild paradise.
With a pang of nostalgia and an overwhelming desire to return, we leave the atoll and continue to the island of Nosy Komba
by boat.
On reaching our destination we'll have some time to have lunch at a restaurant and to explore the craft market, famous for
the local women's artistic embroidery and the expert sculptors' wooden handicrafts.

Meeting the lemurs
What we will do
On board local jeeps, we begin our adventure to discover Nosy Be and along the way we can admire the exuberant nature
typical of the island.
We'll enjoy a truly unique spectacle as we take in the enormous stretches of ylang-ylang cultivation, interspersed with
breathtaking panoramas with soft, green hills, bays with pure white sand and turquoise seas.
We'll discover small villages of huts where life is simple, peaceful and appears to stand still, and we'll be fascinated by the
herds of exotic zebu, the equivalent of our ordinary cows, wandering about on the beach.
We'll then climb the slopes of Mount Passot to its summit, at an altitude of 320 metres above sea level, to savour its
enchanting 360-degree views over the island and coast.
Here a delicious champagne and fruit aperitif awaits us, a relaxing break that will heighten our enjoyment of such an evocative
location.
We then arrive at a restaurant where we'll enjoy an intimate lunch: immersed in a well-tended garden by the sea, we'll savour
dishes of fish and meat. Our glasses filled with a cooled wine specially selected by the chef, we can toast this moment of
Madagascan magic.
In the afternoon we continue the excursion, stopping at the so-called Sacred Tree, an enormous ficus religiosa that, with its
cascading roots and enormous trunk, covers an enormous surface area.
We can literally climb inside the trunk for a curious and mystical experience. It's a great opportunity to find out more about the
local traditions and animist culture.
We then visit a small yet fascinating eco-museum where, through displays and photographs, we learn about the history of
Nosy Be and its inhabitants and the island's flora and fauna
Finally, we'll have the opportunity to meet the adorable lemurs that are reared in a protective area for the purposes of study
and breeding.

What we will do
Leaving the port of Diego Suarez in an off-road vehicle, we head south, crossing the hinterland of Madagascar with its
evocative and varied panoramas.
Our first destination is Joffreville at the foot of the Amber Mountain, the entrance to the park. We'll stop briefly among the
colonial houses that speak of the past of this little town immersed in the forest.
We then enter the Amber Mountain National Park* which stretches over some 18,200 hectares, gathered around the volcano
of the same name, a highly popular destination which, since it opened in 1958, has become Madagascar's main natural
attraction.
Here we set off on a hiking trail through the forest where, with a little luck, we can spot various species of lemurs, including the
crowned lemur and Sanford's brown lemur, the brookesia minima – the smallest and rarest chameleon in the world, tortoises
and turtles.

What we will do
Our local jeeps await us at the port, in which we will explore some of the most beautiful beaches in northern Madagascar.
Travelling along the coast, we arrive at the foot of the Montagne des Français, so-called in honour of the French and
Madagascan citizens who died opposing Vichy France, which was in alliance with the Nazis. Here we make a brief stop to take
photographs of the magnificent baobab trees that grow in the area.
Our next destination is the village of Ramena, a picturesque fishing village overlooking a beautiful white sandy beach lined with
palm trees.
We then continue towards the Cap Miné lighthouse at the mouth of the bay, where we stop to admire the incredible
panorama. From here we can enjoy a 360-degree view that takes in the bay, the lagoon of the Emerald Sea, the Indian
Ocean and the hinterland of northern Madagascar.
A short distance from the lighthouse is the scenic Dune Bay, an unspoilt beach where the vegetation almost touches the sea
and the remains of French fortifications still watch over the inlet.
From here a brief, pleasant walk takes us to Pigeon Bay with its pure white sands protected from the wind.
We then continue to Sakalava Bay, which boasts an enchanting beach where we stay for a while to swim and relax.
A light lunch at a small restaurant on the beach gives us an opportunity to sample the local cuisine.
On our return journey we stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the abandoned island of Nosy Lonjo, known as Pain de
Sucre or Sugar Loaf, that juts out of the blue mirror of water in the bay where dolphins and turtles may be seen.
Finally, we end our excursion with one last stop at Place de la Musique, where we'll enjoy a folk performance before returning
to the port.

Hinterland of Madagascar: traditional villages, Montagne des Français, Amber Mountain
Tsingy Rouge Park
Diego Suarez
What we will do
Leaving the port in our jeeps, we head south on the RN6 motorway.
On our journey we can admire** a succession of landscapes that introduce us to the hinterland of Madagascar**: magnificent
views, small traditional villages with houses on stilts, rice fields and rivers, the Montagne des Français, rich in vegetation and
majestic baobabs, and Amber Mountain with its volcanic craters and cones.
Leaving the tarmacked road, we drive along an adventurous dirt track for around 40 km. Through spectacular panoramas, we
arrive at the Tsingy Rouge Park.
Literally needles in the Madagascan language, tsingys are basaltic formations with a red colour and a pointed needle shape,
sculpted by the wind and rain along the Irodo River, which form a veritable forest of spires.
We descend into the canyon on foot, immersed in a lunar landscape where time appears to have stood still. The colour
contrast between the red of the rocks and the emerald green of the surrounding vegetation will take our breath away, and
we'll admire the ephemeral drapery of the tsingys, as beautiful as they are fragile, with near reverence.
At the end of our hike we hit the road for our return journey, stopping in Diego Suarez, now called Antsiranana and also
known as the Pearl of the North, to visit the city before returning to the ship.

Montagne des Français
What we will do
We leave the Port of Diego Suarez, which is an important centre of Northern Madagascar, and we cross the spectacular
Diego Suarez Bay in tuk tuks, the typical three-wheeled taxis. This is a splendid and perfectly concealed natural bay that is
often rated as the third most beautiful in the world after those of Sydney and Rio de Janeiro. The location still bears a historic
name (merging the names of Diego Diaz and Fernando Suarez, the two Portuguese navigators who discovered it in the 16th
century). It is dominated by the Sugar Loaf Mountain, an island that recalls the more famous one in Brazil.
We take the opportunity to have many photo stops to immortalise the famous baobabs, the trees with branches pointing
upwards to the sky which have become a symbol of this land together with the cute lemurs. From here we can also take
pictures of the Montagne des Français (the mountain of the French), the necropolis of the colonizers of the past, which was
given that name in memory of the fighting between French and British colonial forces.
We return to Diego Suarez on board out tuk tuks which take us around the city with a population of about 80,000 inhabitants
where numerous Yemeni, Somali, Comorian, Arab, Chinese and Indo-Pakistani communities of traders cohabit with the local
Malagasy population.
This excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility problems. This excursion does not include a dedicate tour guide. Break
with fresh fruit. Photo stops and free time. The capacity of Tuk Tuk is 2 people maximum.

Canale des Pangalanes
Welcome Cocktail at the Ariane Village Restaurant
Tamatave and Bazar Be Market
What we will do
We leave the Port to reach the typical village of Ambodisaina along the Canale des Pangalanes, which was built by the French
during the colonial period. This network of canals parallel to the coastline is over 600 km long and it still represents the main
means of transportation in the region.
Along the road we can watch the locals going about their day to day business, the fishermen at work and boats that transport
agricultural products and building materials such as bamboo and wood. Once in Ambodisaina we visit the village on foot to
discover the local way of life of its inhabitants.
We then reach the Ariane Village Restaurant where we can relax and enjoy a delicious welcome cocktail accompanied by a
refreshing fruit buffet.
During our free time on the beach we can indulge in a pleasant foot massage with essential oils.
We then proceed in the direction of Tamatave to visit Bazar Be, a large market with spices and arts and crafts products where
we have some free time to dedicate to our purchases. At the end of the market visit we return to the port.

culture that is very different to our own, but which has much in common with the rural lives of our ancestors.
We leave the city and head north, admiring the varied and scenic landscape in a succession of coast, countryside, tended
fields, forests, lagoons and villages where time appears to have stood still.
We arrive in the city of Mahavelona, in the Madagascan language, or Foulpointe for the European colonists, to visit the remains
of a 19th century fortress: Fort Manda.
We'll be immediately struck by the thickness and character of its walls, built by the Merina tribe using ancient building
techniques mixing stones, debris from the sea bed and egg white in a blend that over the centuries has resisted enemy attacks
and adverse weather conditions.
A pleasant walk inside the fortress will give us the chance to admire the remains of the soldiers' quarters and those of the
military leaders, as well as a large tree at the foot of which gifts are still made to the ancestors.
Our guide will tell us some fascinating facts about the history of the country, its changing royalty and the dominions that have
alternated over the centuries.
We then continue in our minivan to a simple hotel facing the ocean for a stop at the beach.
Here we'll be greeted with a delicious welcome cocktail and savour the sweet taste of freshly-picked fruit, then relax to the
rhythm of African music and dive into the blue waters before returning to the ship.
Transport and facilities in Madagascar are not necessarily of the standard usually found in developed countries.
This tour features an approximately 4-hour drive by minivan along local roads that are not in the best of conditions. Consequently, it
is not recommended for
guests who suffer from back problems. Insect repellent is highly recommended. Casual clothing and comfortable walking shoes with
non-slip soles are advisable for the visit to
the fort. For guests who intend to take a refreshing dip in the hotel pool we suggest bringing the onboard beach towel and a
swimming costume. Space is limited, so please
reserve early. The means of transport used are small and do not have air conditioning. The excursion does not feature guides on
each bus but some local guides will assist
groups providing information during the main stops. English speaking guides are available in limited numbers; if they are not
available, the excursions will be conducted in
French. Due to the high number of tours and buses involved in the excursion there may not be a representative from the ship
present. The beach offers sun beds, and parasols
(payable at the beach).?

Route des Tamarins
Plaine des Cafres
The village of Bourg-Murat
Pas de Bellecombe
Plaine des Sables
The Enclos Fouqué caldera
Lunch at a restaurant
The La Cité du Volcan museum
What we will do
We leave Le Port by coach, heading inland in the direction of one of Réunion’s most iconic features, the Piton de la Fournaise
volcano, one of the most active volcanoes on the planet. Indeed, it holds the world record for the frequency of its eruptions.
Following the spectacular Route des Tamarins, we cut through the villages of Saint-Pierre and Le Tampon before reaching the
Plaine des Cafres, a fertile plain that is one of the richest areas on the island in terms of both culture and farming.
It is here that we begin our climb up the slopes of the volcano, heading first to the village of Bourg Murat which, at 1,600
metres above sea level, is the most elevated inhabited settlement on the island.
We continue our ascent, reaching the Pas de Bellecombe at an altitude of 2,300 metres.
Our climb is rewarded, here, with enchanting views of the vast stretch of red and black detritus known as the Plaine des
Sables – the Plain of the Sands – a moon-like landscape that demonstrates just how atypical a tropical island Réunion is.
Having crossed the Plaine des Sables, we climb even higher, skirting ancient craters to reach the highest rim, which borders
the central Enclos Fouqué caldera. From the viewing terrace – another 300 metres’ climb – we can admire the Formica Léo
crater and the Piton de la Fournaise.
We return to Bourg Murat for lunch at a restaurant serving traditional Creole dishes.
In the afternoon we visit the new volcano museum: La Cité du Volcan. With 6,000 m² of exhibit space, this decidedly modern
museum employs the latest technology to provide a thorough introduction to the world of volcanoes.
We then take the coastal road back to Le Port, and make our way back on board the ship.
The route is quite sinuous. We advise you to bring adequate clothes as you will go up to an altitude of more than 2.000m and a
raincoat and sun block. As the number of
places is limited, we recommended you reserve in advance. The meteorological conditions may suddenly change and the visibility

Following our visit to the Museum, we head back along the coast to the airport, where this thrilling excurion terminates.
The route is quite sinuous. We advise you to bring adequate clothes as you will go up to an altitude of more than 2.000m. Guests
with blood pressure or heart conditions are
advised this excursion may not be suitable. The means of transportation may vary and some may not have air conditioning. Please
bring sun block. As the number of places is limited, we
recommended you to reserve in advance. The meteorological conditions may suddenly change and the visibility may decline. There
are a limited number of English speaking guides;
should no guides be available excursions will be led in French. This tour is sold to guests with flights departing after 8:30 p.m. from
La Reunion Airport.?

What we will do
A minibus takes us from the port to the helipad.
There is a short safety demonstration, then we are ready for take-off on our thrilling, and unforgettable, helicopter flight high
over the extraordinary landscapes of Réunion.
First, we fly over the bay of Saint-Paul and its densely populated hinterland before cutting inland towards the heart of the
island.
We soon find ourselves soaring high over a wild landscape of ridges and peaks, heading to the Piton Maido which, at 2,200
metres in height, towers over the surrounding mountains.
A little further on, we are confronted with the collapsed calderas of the ring of volcanoes that once surrounded the mountain:
the cirques of Cilaos, Mafate and Salazie. ** The rich, emerald green of the lush vegetation covering the Cirque de Salazie, with
its waterfalls and the famous wild canyon, the Trou de Fer, is especially inspiring.

A unique experience to explore and learn more about the wonderful world of tea, venturing into the history and culture of Mauritius.
What we will see
Les Aubineaux
Bois Cheri and tea tasting
Saint-Aubin and the Anthurium house
Lunch with typical Creole dishes
What we will do
Once we leave the port we travel backwards in time, away from the din of cars and the hustle and bustle of modern cities. We
start this experience with a stop at Les Aubineaux, a splendid colonial style house built in 1872, in the middle of a tea
plantation. In 2000 the house was transformed into a museum and today stands in all its splendour surrounded by a
wonderful garden enhanced by camphor trees. On this visit we can learn more about the various cultures of Mauritius.
Our next stop is in the village of Bois Cheri to visit the plant where the Mauritians favourite tea is produced. In the oldest
plantation of Mauritius which dates back to 1892, we learn how to recognize the various flavours of tea by observing the
transformation processwith which a wonderful vanilla flavoured tea is obtained from the green leaves. From the Chalet we can
view the immense plantation surrounded by a beautiful lake. In this beautiful setting can enjoy a magnificent view of the
southern side of the island, while we taste the various flavours of Bois Chéri typical teas.
We then leave the Chalet and head for the historic colonial dwelling of Saint-Aubin . Built in 1819 during the French period it
was built using wood from old ships. Inside the estate we can also see the Anthurium greenhouse, the Vanilla House and the
Rum House, before an unforgettable delicious lunch with typical Creole dishes.
Spaces are limited, so please reserve early. The means of transportation may vary and are of local standard; some may not have air

Lunch of creole specialities
Rum tasting at St Aubin
Sacred lake of Grand Bassin and Hindu temple
Panoramic viewpoint of Black River
Chamarel waterfalls and Seven Coloured Earth
What we will do
Leaving the port by coach, we set off to explore the south of the island.
The island of Mauritius has a rich collection of vestiges of its volcanic past, and our first destination is the Trou aux Cerfs crater
, on the summit of an extinct volcano, from where we can enjoy spectacular views of the island and mount Rempart in
particular.
We'll then stop at the showroom of a naval modelling workshop, renowned for its little models of historic crafts based on the
original designs. We can browse the objects on display and perhaps even buy an original souvenir.
Your next stop will be the distilliry of St-Aubin 1819, where you will have the opportunity to taste severel type of artisanal
rums.
The next stop allows us to come into contact with one of the populations that make up Mauritius' characteristic melting pot:
the sacred lake of Grand Bassin, nestling in the crater of a volcano and embellished with a Hindu temple where a famous
statue of Shiva is kept.
The lake and the temple are one of the oldest Hindu pilgrimage destinations. According to tradition, the lake emerged from a
drop of water from the river Ganges which dropped from the clothing of the god Shiva, fascinated by the island's beauty.
During the journey to our final destination, we'll stop to take photographs at the *Black River panoramic viewpoint, from where
we can admire the Black River Gorge, the deepest gorge in Mauritius.
For lunch we head to a restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal of creole specialities.
Our last, unforgettable stop will be at a magical place: the Chamarel waterfalls and the Seven Coloured Earth. A true natural
spectacle: the multicoloured volcanic rocks (red, brown, indigo, green, blue, purple and yellow) are naturally arranged in a tidy
design with seven shades that not even torrential rain and adverse weather conditions can eliminate.
We return to the ship by coach, accompanied by our wonderful memories of this extraordinary day.
