Description of Site: This internship is located in out-patient services department of behavioral medicine and psychiatry. We see patients in individual, group and family modalities and treat all psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The site is the home to the school of medicine psychiatry residency and therefore has an interdisciplinary teams of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors who work here. We provide clinical services as well as teaching sand conducting clinical research.

Highly restrictive treatment facility that focuses on assisting its clients with decreasing maladaptive behaviors and strengthen effective coping skills. Also focuses on

Description of site: The Dual Diagnosis Unit is a short-term, inpatient detox center. In addition

to addiction, we treat psychiatric illness. Clinically, we provide group, individual, and family therapy. On days the student is at the facility, he/she will be attending a Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team from 9-10 am and Medical Rounds from 10-11 am. He/She will be observing group, individual, couple and family therapy sessions.

Description of site: The WV Family Grief Center offers peer support for families with children

between the age of 3 and 18 who have experienced the death of a loved one. The peer support groups meet one evening per week by the Mon. Co. school system calander. Dinner is offered to the families and staff before the peer support groups meet. Nights of Service are on Thursday evenings from 6pm (dinner) until 7:30. Volunteer co-facilitators of groups meet at 5:30 for a pre-group meeting and stay for a 7:30 p post group meeting. Age groups are Littles (3-7), Middles (8-10), Teens (11-18) and Adult Caregiver group. Twice a month a general Adult Bereavement Support Group is offered.
