classroom management skills. They must find a balance between being

BFFs (best friends forever) with thestudents, and running a totalitarianclassroom.

Appropriate classroom managementinvolves asserting authority, while at thesame time being approachable andrelatable.

with the students. Twofold process.

Teachers must be willing to listen. If students feel that they cant askquestions of their teacher, or if

conversations with parents. At the beginning of the schoolyear teachers should send aletter to parents detailing their

expectations.

student performance. Important for teachers to make

themselves available duringparent/teacher conferences , so thatparents can get accurate reports of their childs progress.
