Additional Activities• Dramatic Play Practice:

– In “work choice time”, create a play store where students can practice playing with pennies and nickels. • Comparing Coins by Feel:

– Put coins in a Feely Box, and children must guess, by touch only, which coin it is.

• Games:– Money Cube Game– Penny-Nickel Exchange– Penny-Nickel-Dime Exchange– Money Conversion Dice Game– Money Grid

• Make Exchange Chart

– Each child makes a coin exchange chart using stamps.

• Ongoing Coin Calendar:– Create a giant coin chart that correlates with calendar and unit; a visual representation of the value of

coins, and relationships between penny to nickel, nickel to dime, etc. It will help highlight the pattern coin values.
