The construction and maintenance methodologies are regulated by INVIAS.

INVIAS offers a package of manuals that are available on internet.

The manual was updated in 2007 and it is based on important international standards:

Its content is composed of 249 test standards and 95 construction specifications.

Classification of roads based on Traffic volume to determine: i) Materials Quality, ii) In site equipment, iii) Construction methodologies and iv) Construction quality.

Application of statistics to establish the acceptance of pavement structure and resistance of mixtures.

Strict control over the IRI and the Skid resistance.
