Day students or self-catered students will need to purchase meals required. College policy is such that all under 18s are catered.

    ii) The Student the person who is studying theiracademic programme at CSVPAiii) Fee Payer person responsible for the paymentof fees. Hereafter the Fee Payer may be the parent,guardian or their designated Agent acting on theirbehalf.iv) Parent all natural parents, whether theyare married or not, any person who, although not anatural parent, has parental responsibility for a childor young person or any person who, although not anatural parent, has care of a child or young person(having care of a child or young person means thatthe child lives with and is looked after by that person,irrespective of what their relationship is).v) Guardian - a person who has been appointed by a judge to take care of a minor child personally and/ormanage that persons a airsvi.     1 ImportantPlease read these conditions carefully as they shallform part of the contract between the Fee Payer andthe relevant Cambridge School of Visual & PerformingArts (the College). It is important that you makesure that you have read and understood all of theseconditions as con rm that you accept these conditionswhen you sign the registration form. The terms andconditions apply regardless of changes made to astudents study programme or as originally stated

    on the Application form, subject to the College givingreasonable notice of such changes wherever possible.Note: any reference to term includes semesters.

    2 Application and enrolmenti) To enrol a student at the College, the applicationform must be completed, signed by the Studentand Fee Payer. Send your application directly toAdmissions with the following items:a) The students full academic transcripts/reports andevidence of English language levelb) Four passport-size photographsc) A copy of the students passport and all prior UKvisa pages if applicable. Students are required tofully disclose any prior application to enter the UK,including any visa refusals received, together withinformation about the level and content of any prior

    studies undertaken in the UK, as this is an immigrationrequirement before we can sponsor any student.d) Payment of 2,500 to cover the registration fee

    (100) and the initial deposit (2,400) is required fromthe Fee Payer.ii) The College will con rm as soon as possible whetheror not the enrolment has been accepted.iii) Formal enrolment documentation will be sent toyou once the application has been accepted.

    3 Payment of fees for tuition andaccommodationi) The fees can be paid by termly instalments at theapplicable termly rate for the Programme for whichthe student is enrolled by the Fee Payer. Termlypayments must be made at least 2 weeks beforethe start of the relevant term. An annual advancepayment discount is available on programmes of 2terms or more if fees are paid in full at least 2 weeksbefore the start of the programme academic year.ii) Tuition and accommodation is dependent upon thefees for the relevant term being paid in full. If paymentof the relevant terms fees has not been made infull on the due date, by the Fee Payer, the Collegewill charge interest at the rate of 2% per month onthe outstanding balance until it is paid. If payment

    becomes overdue the College reserves the right tosuspend or cancel tuition and/or accommodation. Incases of extreme or repeated failure to make paymentby the due date, the College may require paymentof the fees for the remainder of the academic year,including fees for future terms which may not yetbe due. The student may be prevented from sittingexaminations or the results of examinations and/or College references or other information may bewithheld where fees remain unpaid in whole or in part.iii) Fees may be paid in three ways:a) By bank transfer to the following account. An

    additional GBP 12 must be transferred with the fees tocover bank charges.Important: A payment reference must be providedby the Fee Payer so that the College can identify fundson safe arrival into our account.     cost to see a private doctor can vary and can berequested via the Colleges medical centre. The studentwill be liable for this cost. All routine medical checks,including dentists, should be organised by yourselvesduring college holidays. Emergency dental/orthodontictreatment is on a private basis, appointments canbe made via the Medical Centre. The student will becharged directly by the dentist that they see and somecharges may be payable in advance. iv) The College is unable to refund fees when thestudent is absent (from Programmes) due to illnessor injury or other emergency, unforeseen event orchange in personal circumstances. The Fee Payer istherefore advised to arrange adequate insurance to

    provide cover for the refund of fees in such cases ofillness or injury or other emergency, unforeseen eventor change in personal circumstances.

    11 Grounds for exclusioni) The student must abide by the Colleges rules asset out in the prospectus and the Student Handbook(located at http://www.csvpa.com/en/downloads/)oras may be published or announced by the Head of theCollege from time to time.ii) The College reserves the right to require a studentswithdrawal including immediate withdrawal from

    a Programme, or part of a Programme, for a seriousor aggravated disciplinary or behavioural matterincluding continued or repeated misconduct, or if itis considered by the Head of the College that such awithdrawal is in the best interests of the student orthe study group.iii) In the event of a students temporary or permanentexclusion from a Programme, or expulsion from theCollege, no refund of tuition or accommodation for thecurrent academic year, or deposit, will be made.iv) In the event of a student being excluded from aProgramme or part of a Programme arrangementswill be made for the student to return home at theearliest possible opportunity, and the student will berequired to con rm their safe arrival to their homecountry. Their visa sponsorship will be withdrawn. Inthis event, any relevant costs and expenses incurredby the College, including the costs of shipping/storingpersonal property, shall become payable by the FeePayer.v) Attendance is monitored in two ways, by overallpercentage and by contact points in accordance withUKBA regulations. Students are required to maintain

    appropriate levels of attendance and may be expelledand/or reported to the UKBA should this fall below therequired level.vi) It is important that the College is made awareof any welfare or medical conditions or disabilities.

    If a student arrives at College with a pre-existingcondition which was not declared at the time ofapplication, the College reserves the right to either askthe student to leave the College or to send the studentfor private medical or psychological treatment or fortests, which will be at the students expense.vii) Substance Misuse: the Parents, Guardians orCarers for the student consent to them providingsamples that maybe required, adhering to the Collegesubstance misuse policy.

    12 Academic performancei) The student is accepted at the College on theunderstanding that progression through the relevant

    Programmes is conditional upon satisfactorilyattending lessons and attaining reasonableperformance targets. English for Academic purposeswill form part of a students study Programme untilsuch point as they reach IELTS 7.5.ii) If, in the reasonable opinion of the Head of theCollege, the student has not satisfactorily attendedlessons or has achieved below 95% attendanceincluding authorised absences (minimum 80%actual attendance), or has failed to attain reasonableperformance targets, the College may not enterthe student for public or internally accredited

    examinations or allow the student to continue withthe programmes for which they are enrolled. In suchcircumstances the student may be o ered suitablealternative Programmes or asked to withdraw fromthe College. In the event of a student being withdrawnno refund of the terms fees or deposit will be made.See sections 7 & 9.iii) Any student found to have misled the College as totheir quali cations, medical or psychological history,learning di culties, prior UK Visa history or suitabilityfor entry will be subject to expulsion from the Collegewithout recourse to refund of tuition fees alreadypaid. Should an alternative Programme be moresuitable, a student may be counselled on to such aProgramme, however this may also require changes totheir visa status which may need to be communicatedto the UKBA.

    13 Accommodationi) The student under the age of 21 is expected tolive in College accommodation unless either livingat home with a Parent or Guardian aged at least 21years (subject to College approval), within reasonable

    travelling distance of the College unless agreementotherwise is made with the Head of the College,or where there are exceptional health or welfarecircumstances.ii) While the College will use its reasonable

    endeavours to provide a student with theaccommodation requested on the application form,their preference is not guaranteed and con rmationwill be made prior to arrival.iii) The student may at any time be asked to changeaccommodation where this is due to misbehaviour,miscreant or otherwise, due to the negligence, actor omission thereof the student. Any additionalsupplement shall become immediately payable.iv) Should the student wish to change or move outof College accommodation Fee Payer,is requiredto submit a request for approval from the Head ofthe College , in writing, at least 12 weeks beforethe start of the term in which the change takes

    e ect, otherwise, they will be charged the normalaccommodation fees in lieu of notice for the remainderof the current term plus one full academic term.Should a student move out of college accommodationwithout prior approval from the Head of the College,accommodation fees will be charged for the remainderof the academic year.v) Students who begin their studies in January may berequired to change their accommodation in SummerTerm 2.vi) Students in college owned accommodation arenot charged during half term although most students

    return home. Students under 18 remaining in collegeduring half terms or holidays may be required to besupervised during the day. All students of CSA agewill undertake supervised revision work or otherdesignated activities during half term or holiday timesthey are at college and there is a charge for all CSA andhomestay students at half terms.

    14 Penalties and nesi) The student is liable for any breakages, loss ordamage caused by the student to the premises inwhich the student is being taught or is living.ii) Breakages, loss or damage in shared rooms orcommunal living areas are considered the jointresponsibility of the students in occupation, and willbe recovered as such, unless an individual studentaccepts responsibility for such damage caused.iii) The College may impose a reasonable penaltyor ne for other forms of misconduct such ascontravening health & safety regulations or infringingCollege policy.

    15 Personal propertyThe College does not accept responsibility or liabilitywhatsoever, including liability through the acts,omissions or negligence of its employees, agents orassignees for the students personal property, and the

    student is advised to take out personal insurance tocover any loss or damage to personal property whichmay occur while the student is at the College althoughthe Student, Parents, Guardians or Carers for thestudent, and the Fee Payer should take independentadvice on the content of such policies beforecommitting themselves.

    16 PublicityBy enrolling with the College, the Student, Parents,Guardians or Carers for the student, and the FeePayer, consent to the reasonable use of the studentsdetails and academic achievements, including imagesor recordings of the student howsoever made, for

    promotional purposes.17 Data protectionAny information provided to the College may beheld on computer and shall be used by the College inaccordance with its data protection registration andthe data protection principles. Details of these areprovided in the Student Handbook which is accessibleat: http://www.csvpa.com/en/downloads/

    18 LiabilityThe College shall not be liable for either death or

    personal injury su ered by any student except as mayarise through the negligence of the College. Parentsand the student agree to notify the College of specialdietary needs, allergies or other medical conditionswhere special arrangements have to be made.Parents and students also agree that the College mayadminister any non-prescription medication or rstaid as is deemed appropriate and to seek medical,dental or optical treatment when required.

    19 Reservation of rightsThe College reserves the following rights:i) to alter the content, nature and venue of aProgramme at any timeii) to alter the details of any publishedinformation at any timeiii) to alter method of payment if deemed necessaryat any timeiv) to assign the whole or any part of the agreementbetween the Fee Payer and the College, to any personor body, at any time.

    20 Refund of depositsThe initial deposit cannot be used by the student topay for expenses or cover shortfall in fees. The depositthat is required by the College cannot be refundeduntil the nal account has been settled in full, around

    3 months after the end of the students course ofstudies. Only once a students account has been fullysettled will any remaining deposit funds be returned

    to the student or Fee Payer, as applicable. Advice willbe sought, from the Fee Payer as to the account detailsto be credited.

    21 Vacation chargesi) Charges will be made should the student remain inCollege accommodation during vacation periods.ii) Charges will be made if the student leavesbelongings in College accommodation duringvacations in such a state that it is not possible to clean,maintain or repair their room.

    22 Payment to agentsBefore applying to study with us you may haveengaged an agent to o er you advice and support inapplying for Programmes of study, and you may insome cases also have agreed to pay a fee to your agentfor those services. We further understand that youwish us to pay that fee to your agent on your behalf(up to maximum limits as stated on www.ceg-uk.com/servicefees). Where this is the case we acknowledgethat your tuition fees payable may include a sumowing by you to your agent up to a maximum limitas referred to above. We agree, at our discretion, topay this sum to your agent up to a maximum limit perterm. We agree, at our discretion, to pay this sum toyour agent on your behalf and reduce your tuition feesowing to us accordingly provided that the followingconditions are met:- You enrol at Cambridge School of Visual & PerformingArts;- You correctly complete the application form toauthorise us to make these payments to yournominated agent;- You pay all relevant academic fees to the College as

    they become due- Your agent has achieved Approved Agent status,an Approved Agent being an agent that has enteredinto a contract with you directly for the provision ofservices that are of a level and nature which satis esCambridge Education Groups internal policies andexpectations of an agent, and who has been con rmedby Cambridge Education Group as being such an agent.Provided the above conditions are met and if for anyreason we decide not to pay an amount due to youragent on your behalf, then we will refund to you theamount owing to your agent up to the maximum limit,for you to pay across directly. If you have agreed withyour agent that you will pay more than the maximumlimit, then you will remain liable to pay any excessto your agent. Having satis ed the above conditionsshould you NOT wish us to make an automatic

    23 School trips and off-site activitiesBy enrolling with the College the Parents, Guardiansor Carers for the student consent to the studentparticipating in all college trips and other activitieso college premises and to be given rst aid or urgentmedical treatment during the activity or college trip.

    24 JurisdictionThese terms and conditions, and any disputes arisingfrom contracts or agreements with the College shallbe governed by and construed in accordance withEnglish Law under the non-exclusive jurisdiction ofthe English Courts.Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts isa division of Cambridge Arts & Sciences Limited(company no. 03454690) which is a limited liabilitycompany registered in England.
