LaminatingLaminating is used to produce items that are wider than standard machining capabilities i.e. 275mm and wider, or for species such as walnut or cherry that are traditionally not available in sections widerthan 150mm.

External Sheeting & Cladding

MDF has become a very popular choice forinternal joinery finishes, because it won’t twist, shrink or split after fixing and is knot-free giving a smooth attractive finish.

All MDF is manufactured from a moistureresistant board making it very stable in a newbuild environment.

A bevelled oak veneered MDF has been usedhere to give a contemporary look to this modern home. It can be supplied pre-finishedor unfinished.

Cranwood offers an extensive choice of MDFsheet materials to complement our range ofnatural timber products.

We can offer standard, moisture resistant and veneered MDF as well as a full rangeof plywoods.

Sheeting and Timber Cladding is increasingly being used externally on buildings to provide a warm classy look which is also highly durable.

LarchSiberian Larch was used for the external claddingin Tollymore National Outdoor Centre Co Down (shown here). Not only is it aesthetically pleasingbut it offers excellent durability and is considered environmentally friendly.

CedarWestern Red Cedar, shown here, was used forthe external cladding in St Marys HospitalCo Dublin and is probably the most commonlyused of all timber for external cladding.

It can be left untreated to turn an attractive silvergrey or can be supplied pre-finished.

IrokoWhen used as an external cladding Iroko gives a building a warm modern and natural look.Pre-finishing before fitting helps seal in thatnatural colour.

We offer a complete range of services including regularising, grading and treatment options.We can also produce a wide range of specially cut tapered pieces and fillet cuts.

Both of our Timber Treatment plants use preservatives supplied by Arch Timber Protection.These have been specifically formulated to make use of biocides with a low environmental impact.

Our low pressure (vac/vac) system uses Vacsol Aqua 6112 and provides an alternative treatmentfor those timbers which are not in ground contact.

Our recently installed high pressure(Tanalith E) treatment plant boasts fullcomputer controlled treatment cycles.

These match the treatment duration to the final end use, giving you peace of mind about the durability of your investment. We can provide you with treatment certificates if required.
