1 Creating a Manual Flight Record (USAF) Under standard operating conditions, the flight record application loads all relevant mission data from executing schedule lines. Creating a Manual Flight Record (USAF)

Under standard operating conditions, the flight record application loads all relevant mission data from executing schedule lines.

If a mission is not scheduled, a flight record must be created manually and all mission data must be entered by the crew.

This Quick Guide reviews manually creating a flight record.

1 Click Flight Records. The Open Flight Record window appears.

2 Click Create Manual Flight Record. A new flight record opens.

Tip 1

The Messages panel provides real-time information regarding required inputs or data errors that must be addressed before the flight record can be submitted.

Mission Data Grid

3 Click the Date field. A calendar appears.

4 Select the mission Date.

5 Click the Serial Number field.

6 Select the aircraft tail number from the drop-down menu.

7 Click the Sched Line Type field. The Select a Schedule Line Type window appears.

8 Select the appropriate line type.

Note: Descriptions of each line type are displayed to the right of the line type name.

9 Click OK.

10 Enter Pilot Initials.

Flight Data Grid

11 Click Add on the Flight Data grid header. A new line appears on the Flight Data grid.

12 Verify the Mission Symbol.

13 Verify the departure and arrival airfields for each leg.

Tip 2

Times are entered in Zulu.

14 Enter the Takeoff Time.

15 Enter the Land Time.

Tip 3

The Flight Time, Night, and Total Landings fields are automatically calculated.

Tip 4

Enter Touch and Go landings in this field.

Aircrew Data Grid

16 Click Add on the Aircrew Data grid header. The Select a Person window appears.

17 Enter the Last Name or SSN in the appropriate field.

Note: All Privacy Act data displayed here is fictitious.

18 Click Find.

Tip 5

If the spelling of a crewmember’s name is not known, enter the first few letters and click Find to display a list of names matching the entry.

19 Click the crewmember name.

20 Click OK.

21 Click the Role field.

22 Select a role from the drop-down menu.

23 Enter time for each crewmember in the appropriate fields.

Tip 6

Times entered for eachcrewmember must equal the total duration of the flight but can be divided across the five designated fields.

24 Click Add on the Training Datagrid header.

25 Select a crewmember from the drop-down menu. The Select an Event window appears.

26 Click Find. A complete list ofevents appears.

Tip 7

To filter the event list, enter an Event short name and click Find.

27 Select the appropriate event from the list.

Note: To view syllabus events only, click the filter icon on the Is Syllabus Event? column and choose True.

28 Click OK.

Activity Data Grid

29 Click the event listed under each crewmember’s name.

30 Click the applicable profile bar to expand it.

31 Select activities to add to the Activity Data grid.

Note: Increment the activity value by one by clicking the activity name.

Tip 8

Activities can be removed by clicking the X next to the Activity Name.

32 Select the Airspace Type.

33 Select the Airspace Name.

34 Enter the airspace Entry time.

35 Enter the airspace Exit time.

Tip 9

The Airspace Usage panel is an optional entry that may be required locally.

36 Click Save Flight Record.

Tip 10

Additional options include Save& Print and Save & Print Preview.
