SCU ePortfolio User Guide 1 SCU ePortfolio User Guide Creating a Personal ePortfolio in TaskStream With TaskStream you can create your own personal ePortfolio (called Folios) that enable you to showcase your academic and cocurricular experiences and accomplishments. This set of instructions will take you through an example of building a personal ePortfolio to showcase your leadership experiences at SCU. Click on “Folios and Web Pages” to get started. Type in a title (in this example, it is “Leadership at Santa Clara University”) and click "create new". For this ePortfolio on leadership, we select "Professional Development Portfolio" and click “continue”.

SCU  ePortfolio  User  Guide  

Creating  a  Personal  ePortfolio  in  TaskStream  With  TaskStream  you  can  create  your  own  personal  ePortfolio  (called  Folios)  that  enable  you  to  showcase  your  academic  and  co-­‐curricular  experiences  and  accomplishments.  This  set  of  instructions  will  take  you  through  an  example  of  building  a  personal  ePortfolio  to  showcase  your  leadership  experiences  at  SCU.  

Click  on  “Folios  and  Web  Pages”  to  get  started.  

 

Type  in  a  title  (in  this  example,  it  is  “Leadership  at  Santa  Clara  University”)  and  click  "create  new".  

For  this  ePortfolio  on  leadership,  we  select  "Professional  Development  Portfolio"  and  click  “continue”.

Select  the  General  Purpose  template  drop-­‐down.    

 

For  this  sample,  we  are  going  to  choose  “horizontal  navigation”.  

Next,  choose  a  color  scheme  and  then  click  the  “save  changes”.  

Remember  you  can  always  change  this  color  scheme  later  and  add  different  layouts  to  your  content.  

 

Next  we  will  edit  and  add  content.  Choose  “edit  content”  from  the  tab  above.  You  will  now  rename  the  sections  of  the  ePortfolio.

This  section  is  renamed  "Corporation  Outreach".  

Choose  "Apply  Changes"  Repeat  for  each  desired  section.

The  above  screen  shows  the  main  content  creation  tool.  Each  section  of  the  ePortfolio  can  be  accessed  and  text  and  graphics  can  be  added.  For  example,  here  you  are  prompted  to  describe  your  professional  goals  and  the  experiences  that  have  shaped  them.  

Choose “Edit text & image”  

The above screen shows the text, edit, and HTML editor. Click on “Save and Return.”

On  the  bottom  of  the  main  content  editor,  there  is  a  menu  bar  that  shows  the  various  formats  which  can  be  added  to  your  ePortfolio.  In  this  example,  we’ll  add  an  attachment.  Click  on  the  attachment.  

 

Click  on  “browse”  to  find  the  file  you  want  to  add.  This  could  be  a  PDF  file,  Word  file,  or  a  picture  file.    Click  on  “Add  File”

Check  to  make  sure  the  file  is  loaded.  Click  on  “Save  and  Return”  to  go  back  to  the  main  edit  page.  

 

Let's  see  how  this  ePortfolio  looks  now.  Remember  you  can  go  down  the  left  column  (in  red)  and  add  or  delete  any  section  you  want-­‐  as  well  as  edit  the  contents  of  the  various  sections.

This  image  shows  how  our  ePortfolio  would  look  on  the  web.  You  will  notice  that  the  template  provides  the  menu  buttons.  By  changing  the  template  you  can  change  where  the  menu  buttons  appear.  

 

Let's  look  at  the  “select  page  area”  to  edit  a  little  closer.  By  clicking  on  a  topic  and  choosing  “delete  area”,  we  can  delete  a  section  of  our  website.

This  warning  message  appears  to  verify  that  this  is  what  you  want  to  do.  

 

After  you’ve  added  all  your  content  and  made  all  your  changes,  you’re  ready  publish  and  share  your  ePortfolio.  Click  on  “Publish/Share  tab  at  the  top  of  the  screen.

You  have  a  few  options  on  sharing  your  work.  You  may:  

1)  Create  a  portable  PDF  of  your  ePortfolio.  

2)  Generate  an  email  link  so  you  can  email  the  ePortfolio  to  your  intended  audience.    

3)  Publish  your  ePortfolio  to  the  World  Wide  Web.
