    Creating Gmail and Class Wiki Account Instructions

    FIRST, Create a new Gmail Class Account: Visit www.gmail.com. Click on the "Create an Account" button at the bottom, right. Fill in all requested information (using the Login and Password from above!). Click "I Accept, Create My Account" at the bottom of the page (You may NOT

    change this account name or password!). Click through the links to go to your inbox.

    SECOND, Create your Wikispaces Account to Login to the Class Wiki: Open up a NEW browser window (so you still have your new Gmail Inbox open). Visit room250.wikispaces.com. Click on the "Join" link at the upper-right corner of the page. Fill in the "Username" and "Password" with the SAME information from the box

    above that you used for your Gmail account. Your "E-mail" should, obviously, beyour new Gmail account address ("Your Username"@gmail.com). Also, makesure you have selected "No" under "Make a Wiki" before clicking "Join."

    This will create your account, but you will need to go BACK to your Gmailaccount, click open the message from Wikispaces once it appears, and click onthe E-mail verification link to complete your account creation.

    Visit room250.wikispaces.com again. This time, click on the "Join this Wiki" link at the upper, left side of the page.

    Click the "Request" button Return to your Gmail account, again, and open the message from Wikispacesaccepting you into the class wiki once it appears.

    Click on the link inside the E-mail that will take you back to the class Wiki, whereyou should be a full member, now (the "Join this Wiki" button should now say"New Page").

    THIRD, Create a New Page for Yourself on the Class Wiki: Click on the "New Page" link at the upper, left side of the page. Type ONLY YOUR FIRST NAME as the title of the page, then click "Create." You will immediately be taken into the editing mode on your page. Create a

    homepage for yourself that will ultimately become a space to display at least onepoem you write during this unit and, eventually, more of your work to serve asyour own electronic portfolio.

    Write a little bit of general information about yourself and takesome time to play with different fonts, colors, lines, tables,photos, etc.

    Make sure all information is appropriate to share withEVERYONE!
