CUA School Colour Fun Run Last Friday, students from K – 6 participated in our Colour Fun Run! What a great way to finish our school year! Everybody involved had a fabulous day. We were very colourful by the end of the fun run. I would like to congratulate everyone on their amazing fundraising efforts for this event, with your help we raised $9400.00! Congratulations to Charli Kelly for being the highest fundraising student in our school and Kindergarten for being the highest fundraising class!

After the costs of prizes and fees are taken out, Crookwell Public School will have profited $5264.00. This money will go a long way towards purchasing beneficial resources for our school. The P&C is also making a generous donation of $1316.00 to the FightMND Foundation.

Infants Movie Excursion It was creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, all together ooky, The Adams family! On Monday, students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 travelled to Goulburn Lilac City Cinema to watch the old time favourite, ‘The Addams Family’. The day in Goulburn was a fabulous way to end such a successful and fulfilling year at Crookwell Public School. Popcorn, Pepsi, lemonade, water and choc top ice-creams were enjoyed by all students during the hilariously funny movie before we completed the short walk through Russell Lane and across the street at the traffic lights on Auburn Street to Belmore Park. We had to fight the urge to stop at the aroma of the doughnuts at the doughnut shop along the way. We found a beautiful shade area under the lovely big trees in Belmore Park to stop and set up camp for the afternoon. Once we were rested, we thought we should run off some of the sugar by playing in the park, with the high monkey bars and spinning equipment being the most popular. To top off this fantastic day, all students were treated to hot chips and bottles of water for lunch. Well done, infants students on your impeccable behaviour and positive attitude which made the day so enjoyable.

Nathaniel Hockley and Brayden Perring enjoyed the food

and drinks in the movie theatre.

Logan Roberts showed his agility to manoeuvre around the

climbing equipment.

The train in Belmore Park was very exciting and fun to play

on, with Brayden as the train driver.

Santa Visit Look who Miss O’Neill found wondering through the corridors of Crookwell Public School on Tuesday! We had sent Santa a request to visit us a few weeks ago and we were hoping he could find Crookwell through the haze of smoke surrounding the town, and he did! Every student in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 got to say hello to Santa, tell him one thing they wanted for Christmas, get a photo with the popular man then cool down with a nice cold zooper dooper, which was a present from Santa. The popular items on children’s wish lists this year were; bikes, guitars, drones and farms. From all of the Infants teachers, we hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy start to 2020. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Olivia Stepien was first to meet with Santa.

Samuel Saville wants a farm for Christmas please Santa.

Charles Willis was very excited to meet Santa at school.

Indi Fahey hands Santa her wish list letter.

Ryann Ross was a little nervous when speaking with Santa.

Christmas…?

Harrison Galway was happy to have a chat with Santa.

Levi Webster is very ready and eager for Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all families from

the Infants teachers.

Lending a Helping Hand at Christmas After watching a BTN episode on the plight of 11 million children existing in poverty in the war torn Middle Eastern country of Yemen, students in 3/4 Echidna wanted to do something to help. They chose to support the World Vision Gift appeal that provides gifts that make a sustainable impact to the lives of children and families affected by conflict, poverty and natural disaster. The range of various priced gifts includes gifts of livestock, childhood immunisation, clean drinking water and education opportunities. The students brought in $1 or $2 of their pocket money to initially purchase 2 chickens, and yesterday as the coin collection grew, we purchased an additional 2 chickens. Here’s what some of our student’s thought of their donation:-

“I felt happy because we did something for people who are struggling.” Shae Dumesic, Kade Fowler, Jonah Allwright and Annabelle Caves

“I’m proud of our class for donating four chickens to people in need.” Tegan Allport, Thomas Cole, Jet Tate, Jack Haynes and David Pick

“I’m glad that I could make a donation to World Vision.” Ben Webster and Elizabeth McDonald

“It feels good to donate and help others.” Emily Simpson

“It’s a good feeling to know that you’ve made a difference in the world.” Evelyn Dark and Sonny Woods

“It makes me think of others and how lucky I am.” Ruby Butler, Addie Dawson and Louise Robertson.

“Our teacher, Mrs Hayes, felt proud of how we helped and thought of others.” Dustin Carr and Johnny Wilson.

Staff Development Days Thurs 19th & Fri 20th This Thursday and Friday are deemed pupil free days for staff to prepare for the following year and engage in professional learning. Our teaching staff has engaged in out of school hours professional learning this year totalling over 20 hours which means they are not required to attend the last two pupil free days.

If you need to call or drop in to the school on either of those two days the school will still be ‘open’ with Mr Whittington and the office staff attending those two days.

Enrolling Now For 2020

If you know of families who will have children starting school at Crookwell Public in 2020 please encourage them to return their Application for Enrolment Form by the end of this

term. This will allow staffing arrangements for next year to be firmly in place by the commencement of the new academic year.

Families new to the school community are invited to contact the school on 48 321 213 to arrange an interview with Mr Whittington, meet the staff, tour the school and receive a Crookwell Public School Information package.

Thank you to the families who have already completed and submitted their child’s application to enrol.

A Great Year! Thank you! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, staff, parents and wider school community, for the role you have played to make 2019 a happy, successful and memorable year. The value of your support cannot be underestimated.

To the parents who will no longer have students at the school, I thank you for your commitment and support over the years and to our Year 6 students as you move from primary school to high school I extend my congratulations and best wishes.

I wish you all a very happy holiday spent with family and friends before returning to Crookwell Public School for a wonderful 2020.
