Crossbite is one of the common dental problems that occur in both children and adult all over the world. Such type of dental problem is mostly caused due to smaller space in the jaws and thronging teeth. Opening of jaw increases in the children with the habit of mouth breathing that directs to crossbite.

Orthognathic surgery is required when both jaws are misaligned because of excessive overgrowth or undergrowth. In the situation when jaws are not perfectly placed then it affects proper bite, sleep as well as looks. There are different types of bite problem which are treated by Orthognathic surgery including crossbite, open bite and underbite.
